Silver will be the fastest color unless they change something in the motor.
In my opinion, usually first year bikes are made better, they must blueprint them or something.

1st year v-max, quickest ever, 1st year zx-11 the same, 1st year busa set the production land speed record.... The list goes on.

Maybe ted has some insight to this, but I think first year bikes are what the mfr. wants to prove. Dealers are going to sell to magazines etc.. It has to perform or they will get bad press. As the years go by either the quality of production slips a little or something. Just seems weird that first year bikes usually have the most balls, unless something changes.

Just my 2 cents

Rob

Well for the most part that is true. They build the bike and frankly it is a bit raw. Then they get feedback and iron it out. Usually it means tweaking it for more linear performance. And usually that tones it down. Then another thing, many mfgs give the magazines a pre production model that is finely tuned and is close to blueprinted and broken in perfectly. Hence the superior performance.

I believe that it will be a color change and a small little mapping upgrade just to say there is something different and improved. Typically they have to let the build make them some $$$$. Even the ZX10 and ZX6 typically change every two years so they can stay competitive. It is a race bike! In Sport-Touring it's not that way. The number of vehicle registrations do not support that type of R&D expense compared to race dirtbikes or race street bikes. Example is moderate changes to the FJR, ST....ect Look at the old Coni? I wish they would do heated grips and find some good location for some driving lights and a simple air temp gauge would be nice.... We can allways hope... Its forums like this that the manufactures watch for ideas..... It is very nice however there is power left on the table on this bike. The stock fuel map is very rich and a PC does wonders with the appropriate map.

In terms of a cruise Control. We went to the local CATERPILLAR Dealership and ordered a O-Ring (Rubber Ring) ( I forgot the part number right off my head). Anyways it fits perfectly on the bar end and when you get the throttle to a desired position you simply slide the O-Ring onto the throttle and It holds it steady. Needless to say it is a $0.37 cruise control. I will post some pics if anyone is interested. And I will look for the part number on the exact size of the O-Ring

I think they are adding o2 sensors for here in '09, at least that is what I heard. Might cause problems with a pc3??

my Yamaha has 02 and the PCIII, Dynojet sets theirproducts up specific for each model bike, and no probs to report. Matter of fact most sportbikes have 02 sensors.

I think Dynojet offers a module that sets air/fuel ratio in real time for 02 sensor bikes, but it never meant enough to me to look into it for mine

Glad to see there is a way around it, thanks for the info!
I guess the price is taking a hike as well... Friend of mine with a '08 zx-14, is going to sell his custom 85 v-max to get a new connie.
