Does anyone use FI cleaner regularly?
I just wanted to know if anyone used fuel injector cleaner regularly to prevent deposits on the intake valves. I have been using it on the c-14, every other tankful, to try and keep the valves clean.

I haven't used any. I do however, use nothing but Chevron or Texaco gas unless I'm out on the road somewhere and can't find it. They contain Techron and regular use keeps everything clean.

Here where I live in Pa., I am wary of using any gas that has alcohol in it (I call it watered down gas). I had went to sunoco which had no signs on the pump, and asked them inside. The lady at the counter said they do not use it, the manager in the back said they did. I asked why there were no signs at the pump and she stated there were. I went out and double checked and there were none and told her, she had no response. I had not looked at texaco as there are not many stations around here, but exxon has no signs, and every exxon station I asked said they do not water it down. You can smell the alcohol in the gas if it is in there, like citgo, pump says 10%. Shell says up to 10%.
I usually go to exxon, and have a can of super in the shop in case I get low. It would be interesting to physically look at the intake valves, I know they claim it will keep them clean, but without looking it is just a guess.
I have never ripped a pfi car head off to find clean valves, never. Maybe the additives help, but I do not think they are superior to a good fi cleaner. Volvos were so notorious for it they came up with the walnut shell blasting method. They would either put the cyl they are working on with the intake valves closed or pull the cams, then blast the intake valves with walnut shells (who thought of this?) to remove the deposits because nothing else would work, not even fi cleaner.
Anyways, when I do pull the flies, I am gonna have a look to see what the valves actually look like, should be later this month.

I add a few ounces at every other fillup, seems to help. Before my 7500 service, I noticed a little lag and tried some injector cleaner. That and fresh plugs and oil brought her back to full performance. now at 12,000 miles, I changed oil to amsoil synthetic 10-40 and what a difference, smoother shifting and a 1/3 drop in engine heat and as usual great smooth power.

OK, well I changed my mind. I was getting a little hesitation when going from no, to low throttle. Ran some cleaner through it and smooth as silk again.
Guess I'm a believer now.

I just guesstimate, 1 bottle does 20 gal or so. If I put 5 gal's in use 1/4 bottle. I use gumout, but I used to use redline in the busa. You cannot believe what the intake valves look like even at 500 miles on a pfi bike!
Every other tankful and you will either keep it clean from the start (new), or every tankful for a while, for those who have some miles on their bikes, will help a lot.
Carb bikes do not suffer from it, only bikes with injectors spraying a very fine mist right at the valves, and carb bikes do not have passages smaller that a needle head.
I am glad I could help, it's what I like to do, I also love to learn as well, and this forum does it all for me...

I use it in my car all the time, and I will now also use it in the C14. Sure can't hurt.

I have a tank of that shit in there now. I didn't know how far I could go on reserve and the closest station to me that was all they had.

I used Chevron Techron concentrate plus fuel system cleaner. The bottle was good for 12 gal and I used about half. My hesitation went away in about 50 miles.
