Throttle Sync (Revisited)
Hey Ted,
You posted about vibration (or "buzz") back on October and started into doing a throttle sync, but ran into trouble with accessing the air screws. How did that end up?
I have the CarbTune 4 set and a service manual on the way. Not that I have to do it soon, but wanted to know how easy it was.
Anybody else have experience with this? I have a feeling I better do it myself or it will go back to the dealer at least once to get it just right. The cost for this service scares me too.

The sync turned out OK, the hardest part is accessing the adjusting screws, you definitely need the special tool with the extended bit or the equivalent carb/TB adjusting tool. You have to have a mirror and a light to even see the screws. Accessing the vacuum fittings is a bit tricky and the best thing you can do is put hoses on the fittings for easier access. I will look for the thread and post it.
And to be honest, I want to go back and see how it is holding up and if it has changed for any reason. The bike smoothed out especially in the pegs and high RPM, but the bars are about the same at 4000 - 5000 and I would like to improve that. I am also wondering if I shouldn't try to back off the balancer shafts, after adjusting them like the book says, I think it was better before. I think, maybe, could be, maybe not. eeeek.

Thanks Ted.
Plenty of time before my first sync, if needed.
My Idle is close to 1200 and all is well. Only interested in such work if there is a problem.
Trying to coax Wormgear for a ride after the rain in Houston for my short time in town.
Will plug him for his cut on the PR2's.
