Just adjusted the balancer shafts....
It is thirty something degrees outside so this morning I decided to remove the right side fairings and adjust the balancer shafts. Looked in the SM and followed the instructions...loosen clamp bolt C and turn the adjuster D clockwise until it makes a whining noise and back it off till it stops. My front one was 3/4 of a turn off and the rear was 1/2 a turn off. Too cold to ride at the moment, but I am hoping it smoothed out the engine ever further. Need to find some of the Mobil 1 MC oil in this shithole, because I am getting tired of having to order the 100% synthetic.
I will report on what the result is.
Also I removed the air deflectors and lo and behold the extra screw was in the foam. Yeah baby.

Love to know how that worked out Ted. BTW, 30 isn't too cold to ride, unless there's ice and snow. 
I'd be out riding now at 28...but we have a few inches of ice/snow.
You using the MX4T? I found MX4T at Autozone and Pepboys...not a lot of stock, so I usually order a few cases at a time...

Well I went to the Kwak shop (I keep forgetting I have a cost +10 discount) and they had the Kwak 100% syn. so at $5 and change per quart, I will buy it from them. Also my tall windscreen came in. A little over 2 inches taller, wider at the top and a slight curl forward at the top, with Kawasaki printed on the screen, no sticker, also no bevel decorations like the stocker. Looks like it was formed from flat stock, which means it may be of tougher material or coating. In the Kwak accessory book they showed 2 screens one with a curl at the top and one without, I ordered the one without the curl, but they may have sent the wrong one. I will see how this one works If it is too much protection in the down position, I will look and make sure there isn't another one that has no curl.
Tomorrow looks like a relatively nice day (they say 54f) so I will take it for a putt and see how it feels without the deflectors and the taller, wider screen.
I would be overjoyed if the bike was smoother. Someone in some other thread on this board or the other, said that their dealer adjusted their balancer shafts and there was a big improvement.

Ted, I put on the Cee Bailey euro this morning. It was about 28f. With this thing on I can drive at 70 mph with my helmet shield up and have NO tearing....unreal at that temp. Im 6ft 1in, perfect shield.

What was the outcome with the balancer shaft adjustment?

OK here is the deal, the balancer shafts definitely helped diminish the 5-7k vibes, say 35-40% maybe more. Worth the effort. The 4.2k vibe is about the same, maybe a tad better. At first it didn't feel like it did much but after about 50 miles and me concentrating on what was happening, I am pleased.
As for the windscreen, I like it, all the way down was giving me plenty of air on my neck and chest. An inch from all the way up all wind noise was gone and there is zero vacuum effect. I am 5'10. There is no turbulence in clean air until you get behind a Ford or worse a Chrysler product. Both smell bad.
As for the lower air deflectors, I haven't figured out what I like better, on or off, Off there is turbulence and almost no warm are when you keep your legs tight into the bike(how I normally ride) There is some warm hitting your legs if you move your feet out on the pegs, but not a great deal It was 50 degrees out and my feet are still cold and I was wearing waterproof Alpine Stars.
I am glad I only did the balancer shafts and not a TB sync at the same time. This way I can quantify the changes.

Is it just me or do ya'll recommend the manual for removing the plastic on the C14. I had no problem removing plastic on the zx14 . All i'm tryng to do for now is adjust the counter balancers

At what mileage are you making the adjustment to the shafts? Is there a recommendation at what mileage to do it at? I got 10K on mine.

I would give it at least 5k so everything is well worn in. Fred H on the other site just did a sync and he said it runs noticably smoother at all rpms.
