Did a bit of sport bike baggin.
The weather gave it a break, and the roads to Virginia City NV are relatively clean ( they sanded them a few weeks ago). So sitting at the stop light on old 395 waiting to go to VC, I was thinking to myself, "what I would give for some sport bikes to show up" then 4 rolled up behind me. Oh yeah. So before the twisty parts they passed me and were doing the tire warm up dance. So I let them get about a quarter mile ahead and then see if I can run them down. Didn't take long, passed them easily and they gave up, pussies. Then on the truck route on the other side, a nasty twisty steep thing with few cops. 4 more sport bikes, and the C14 easily laid waste to them, even gave them a head start and ran them down. One guy said when I passed him I was drifting the rear wheel and leaving a big black stripe and he could have sworn I was dragging a bag. .
This thing is an amazing bike,

You can say that again, I don't know how many riders I have surprised with the plentiful power of this wonderful bike. Yesterday my son and I went out of Patterson,ca on Del Puerto canyon (25miles) and on to Livermore on Mines rd. All twisties, not a straight section to be found and what joy to truly experience what the Kawasaki engineers were trying to provide those who took a chance on such a fabulous bike. The torque pulling hard out of every corner and the feeling that I am going to scrape a bag at any moment and surprising my son (GSXR 750) with mine and the bikes fabulous ability. I wouldn't want it any other way. I was so jazzed on the way home, I was passing ten cars at a time on hwy 132 at speeds over 120. What a rush! roll on and enjoy the ride.

Mr. Garvin was last seen flying off a cliff yesterday at about 150mph playin a guitar and singing... I dont want a pickle..... I just wanna ride my motorsickle...

....hmmm....first there was the Z1-P....then the KZ1000-P....then the KZP which ended production in 2005....its about time Kawasaki get back into the Police Motorcycle business with the wonderful and competent ABS'd, shaft-driven bike...cheaper than the ABS'd HD-FLRPs, cheaper than the ABS'd BMW R1200RT-Ps, within the price range of the Yamaha FJR-1300P and Honda ST1300P, and waaaaaay better looking than any of the Police MotoGuzzis...
....so...whaddaya think, TedG?....would the C-14 make a good cop bike?....I'd wanna wear a super-perforated 2-piece suit and flip-up helmet when riding one if it ever became true and if I ever got the chance to be like Ponch, though

Actually wormie, there is a good chance. A lot of it is about money. Initial price is a big factor, but the bike has to be pretty much bolt on a radio and go. Maintance is also a big deal. Harleys lose out because of maintance. The Kwak is probably the most capable and would be the least expensive to maintain. As for being a good cop bike, too fast for dull normals.

...I agree...too fast for dull normals, but most of the motorcops I've seen would not be what I would consider to be 'dull normals'...the ones I've seen do some pretty amazing things in the tight slow-speed stuff and aren't scared at all to ride fast on competent equipment...my department (since I've been with them) went from KZPs to HDs to the present R1200RT-Ps...they went with the RT-Ps because BMW made the whole policebike an intergrated ready-to-use system with minimum requirements to 'adapt' anything in order to make the bike mission ready....and the whole ABS thing and overheating thing and manueverability thing won the CHP and many other departments world-wide over....the BMWs just kicked ass when compared to the others....but I'm guessing that Kawaski would make tofu outta the BMW if they follow BMW's formula and do it cheaper....
