Longest one day ride ever for me

Yesterday I took a 600 mile ride through Yosemite. Unbelievable What a motorcycle. Only stopped to get gas and food. Ridden at semi human speeds the bike is creamy smooth. The seat didn't kill me, the riding position was awesome. Just the normal discomforts, like my wrist locking up from holding the throttle for so long. What a pleasure not having to fill up every hour. over 200 between tanks. This thing really responds better to body english than handle bar input only. So nice having big time headlights when the sun went down. I am ready to go some more.

Ted, you're starting to sound like a spokeperson for Kawasaki. And I'm getting jealous that I don't have one!!

One can't give up the 10. But I am enjoying exploring roads that I have never been on before. The comfort level, massive thrust, and easy handling make it easy to just pick a spot and go.
This is another part of motorcycling that a sport bike isn't at home doing. Because in between the twisty bits, and I hit some really twisty ones today(did another 360 today), there may be miles of droning in traffic. The comfort and smoothness make it bearable, where you want to die on a sport bike. Also having bags means you can carry an extra shield, jacket, and gloves in case it gets dark and cold.
Don't get me wrong there were places I wish I was on the 10 with the front wheel in the air. But the C14 held its own and blistered out of corners. Oh so smoothly.

Here is a well said quote that explains it well

"Even though all the touring paraphernalia has larded up the 14 to a no-longer-svelte 279 kilograms, the avoirdupois does little to halt the new Concours's crushing performance. Thanks to the addition of Kawasaki's first variable valve timing mechanism, the big beastie has gallons of mid-range torque and pulls like a monster from 4,000 rpm. By the time 7,000 rpm rolls around, Ferrari 360s are waving the white flag and, by 9,000 rpm, everything this side of a Suzuki Hayabusa has pretty much been left by the wayside.

That you're seated bolt upright, coddled in a comfy saddle and, perhaps, carrying the family's groceries home in the saddlebags just adds to the giggle factor."
