Wow, it looks like...........the old Busa. I bet at first glance (if it was coming down the road) that you would not know whether or not it was old or new.
Wait a minute.......Second or third glance for that matter.
At least the 14 is unmistakable.

Sure doesn't look radically different...no petal rotors, no turn signal's in the 1999 mirrors and only slightly updated styling? wtf?

Is there a # of cc's that come with this pick? 1400? maybe 1500 , would ensure the power king for a couple weeks. Kawasaki I suspect has a trick or 2 up their sleeve for '09.

You are right Fast ...Just some light bling and some extra CCs ....I wonder why no wave rotors ??? I guess zook doesn't like them or something ....Hell the Gixxer didn't even get them ... All in all it doesn't look bad , i do like the color ....I still buy a silver 08 zx14 first ......That silver is HOT ...

The people that saw it first hand said it had no scoops in the rear like the other pictures and the the rear turn signals were now in the tail like the zx14 ....I would have to say that's it...

It's 1340 CC My guess they will call it a 1350 kind of like the old GS1100 that jumped to GS1150.....

Does anyone know if it has a one piece upper crankcase? If so it will be a fair fight with the 14.

No word on that yet....But i think no because it was just a little up sizing from 1299 to 1340 CCs ..... I think it's the very same motor as the 99 to 07 Busa ....Some of the people in Vegas it was said to be the new B king motor .. If that's true it maybe a one piece upper case .....It does have the same frame and swing arm so my guess would be same motor ....

I like it, course I always thought the busa was a better looking bike then the 14, Kawisaki makes the uglieswt bikes on the planet but like Forrest Gump "he must be the stupidest sum bitch alive but he sure is fast"

If that is it......(Suzuki does a good job keeping things quiet)
Not a bad looking bike, it'll more than likely look even better in person.
You better believe even though its a 1340cc, it'll be fast as hell once modded.
If your lined up against one be careful, your no advantage. Its a riders race.
Brock is going to make that bike fly. It'll probably go 8sec stock wheelbase with his mods and a great rider of course.

But after waiting almost a decade it's a bit of a let down. 10 years and it's getting the minor update that shoulda happened in 2000-2002.
I wonder if they will announce it like:
"And for 2008, the 2000 Hayabusa you've all been waiting for!!!"

That's from tedbiele on haya dot org who's at the show... Again... JUST enough to probably squeak out the 14 given equal riders and conditions... But there's a lotta power hidden in the 14. Still dont' know why people haven't really dug into the 14's motor yet, but new throttle bodies (hell these are 2mm smaller than the 12!!), bigger pipes (let the damn thing breath), more aggressive cam... Zook and Kaw may not be in bed together any more officially but you know damn good and well they know what the other is doing. They plan to milk this little race out for the next 15 years. If they didn't, they'd have taken the busa to 1397. It's a proven kit on the existing engine that would have made more of a dent in the 14's current dominance.

yea its all a corporate game. They get lots of power out of the gp bikes. They should make a ultimate bike. Kinda like harley when they made the destroyer. Harley even offered the parts to turn your vrod into a destroyer. Kaw could corner the aftermarket with their own parts if they did something like this. I remember before someone was saying the busa was going to have a optional supercharger. That would have been a good move. Both are in together. They way their doing it. It will last for ever. That is the competition. It makes them more dollars

I'm not sure whether to laugh at or cry for the Hayabusa pundits who were frothing at the lips in anticipation of the almighty 04 strike 05 strike 06 strike 07 strike 08, yes yes 08 arrival of the Suzuki king of speed flagship. They may have raised the bar, but I'm thinking this is incremental at best. I know it's too early to call, but let's face it everyone was expecting something this side of a warp II spaceship. Not happening. I agree with the posters who view this as a by product of corporate agreements to ensure that technology is introduced into the bikes at a pace that affords plenty of profits and turn over purchases for the years ahead.

Seems Kawasaki and Suzuki are going to nickel and dime their customers from here on out, no more class leaps like the ZX11 and original Busa. Maybe Triumph will shake things up(I didn't just say that!). At this rate they will produce 180 rear wheel by 2028. Who knows, we might see 190 some day if emissions don't choke the living shit out of them beforehand.
If only a few hp increase they could at least do it every 2 or so years and not a decade between. Why not lighten them significantly if emissions is holding them back, a 15 lbs drop to a 560 lbs bike isn't shit hell the 14 is heavier than the 12 by a few. Add trac control/abs, decent suspension/brakes etc or something. Knock 40-50 lbs off these bitches!
If it's the emissions that's holding them back then why not a Turbo or Supercharged bike of less diplacement?
