Why come over here from the SuzHay board to post this? If you cannot read the article to fully understand it and you don't know much about the Jap versions of the bikes vs the US versions, then there isn't much to say? It's like being a kid trying to understand the newspaper without being able to read, but guessing at the stories by the pictures.

Funny the guys on the Busa site say that magazine sucks and is full of bull shit when it said something good about the zx14 ..But when it said something bad about the zx14 it's the gods honest truth !! ...

Translation: This review apears to show the bikes pretty darn equal, with the 'busa edging the '14 out slightly in the 1/4 mile. But, as others have mentioned, the Japanese versions of the '14 are known to be slightly neutered, so who knows how much the test applies to US versions of both bikes...

by the way who gives a shit, i love the power, handling, braking, look,etc... of my zx14 and that is why i bought it who cares if you miss a 0-100 or qtr mile by a little. it depends who rides the bike. hayabusa is a great bike too no doubt. for now i am riding the zx14 and i am loving it.

It also shows the '14 doing their "test track" (whatever track that might be) at almost 2 seconds quicker than the 'busa.

2 seconds on a 1:10 track is relatively significant when it comes right down to it... that says a lot about the 14's handling & braking advantage considering that they were nearly equal in power on their dyno (160 vs 165hp).

True, true, true but-------aint' it fun to wonder about anything new and mysterious. I do believe that Suk will have a new model Busa next year-----it just does not make any sense to just paint the old one and call it new. But Matt, anything anyone does to move the mark is good for all of us who seem to have too much money.

don't worry teamspeed i'm sure when the US and british mags do a complete test on the 14 they will agree it's the better bike but it won't be a total knockout. busa will go in training and come out leaner and meaner than ever. i for one am glad kaw released the 14 cause this class has needed a good shot in the arm for a few years now. litre bikes are a blast but i need my sled to be a little more "real world".

Hey zerMATT,

Got me a ZX today, they have a good deal on a blue 14 at Granbury Motorsports. Some guy bought it and put 50 miles on, and then took it back the next day, he probably had buyers remorse the salesman said.
Stop by Friday if your by this way, R-1 and I are going to the shops all day.

I saw that on the Busa site also ... Seems some the Busa guys will say anything to put the zx14 down..I say some because most of them are open to new bikes like the zx14 ..... I wish they would if given a chance ride a zx14..I feel if they did they would have a different out look on the zx14.... Hell guys it's just a motorcycle not a cure for Cancer!!!

My buddy who rides a K1200S gets on my 14 last night and rides it for about an hour...couldn't get him off it. He had the needle buried, was raving about the power, handling and brakes...stopped me 3 times to rave about it! Fuck the Busa...anyone here who is curious, go ride a busa and see for yourself...then you'll understand. Busa has nothing on this 14...it never will (not up to 06 anyway).

Great way to get your point across in an intelligent, insightful way. Guess there are extremists on each side of the coin.

The 14 is the new king of speed. Not by much, but it is. And most busa riders acknowledge it. On the street it's going to come down to rider. But then a good rider on a 600ss is gonna wax a busa or 14 too. So it just comes down to "which one do you like better?"

If a busa owner wants to say this about the busa, more power to him. Not sure how FastestBusa having just about each of the best bikes made makes him an extremist, rather it gives him the license to knock any of those bikes. Chill out.

SO TRUE !!!

So true, you have 1000s these days with awesome riders that aren't afraid to go up against anyone on the street and will take you out even though you know you have the bigger faster bike. It comes down to the rider. Myself I have an 06' Busa and a ZX-14 and the Busa will take it in the 1/4mile but after that it is all the ZX. So right now the ZX is the King of top speed but the Busa still rules the street. Man they are both great bikes though.

Stop taking pieces of my post and quoting that...try looking at the entire post and reading it in the context it in which was meant to be conveyed...then, go ride the two of these bikes and come back us...you are reading this all wrong. Not to brag and that's not my intent...but, I have ridden at least 50K miles on the Busa's over the years that I had them and now have the ZX14...amongst a few other similar rides...what I'm saying is GO RIDE ONE...and see for yourself...there is similarity indeed, but that's by design....the Busa has it's good points, but Kaw took the bike to a new level and speed is only one of the many things it has over the Busa. If you've spent any amount of time on these rides, you know what I am saying and if not, you should, just to satisfy your curiousity. The 14 isn't only about speed...that's the easy part to get right when you design a bike. Any asshole can make a fast bike, but make one that rides & works like a 14, now that's an entirely different story...
