amen... bunch of some bitches in both camps. Think I'll just go back to the general sportbike boards. These "specialized" boards are nothing but "who's dick is bigger".

what's funny to me is this is the same arguement that we had on ls1tech when the killer04 cobra came out. it all personal perf. to me both are great and the king of the street battle's will be great this year(especially in houston), but personally i'll say i love my busa but i am thiinking of trying the kawi.
also it all boils down to rider, my friend whipped me bad on his very strong R-1 and then on a R-6, plus he is a LOT lighter than me in any case i'll enjoy the fights and arguements and who knows maybe the new busa will be out sooner than expected, but you have to admit, you can't go wrong with either bike, i mean from the liter's on up, they are all very strong and have come along way

regarding the 14 at maxton.....i don't doubt it went that fast but i thought i read that bike was lowered also. i'm no aerodynamicist but wouldn't that help top speed? and if that is true is the bike considered "stock"?

It was lowered a bit by setting the rear spring sag......No lowering links where used..... Forks where not dropped in the front and no strap was used ...You can poo poo the bike all you want it still ran record for stock and followed the rules set by Maxton....

Precisely why I don't post on Hayabusa.org anymore...they live, eat, breath and shit Busa, Busa, Busa, Busa. They can't admit that there are other great bikes out there. Busa is a great bike in it's own rite and so is the 12 and the 14...as well as the K1200S. They all fuel each other on those sites...very narrow minded thinking, or lack of thinking altogether....it's like they're all brainwashed by some Busa god out there...get a life.

Sorry i did mean to upset you ..I understand now you just wanted info ...It's all good .... It seems the word stock is used very losely with motorcycles ... I read this all the time > My stock bike runs 9.20s in the 1/4 mile and then you find out it is 6 inches over , with a pipe and p/c , air box mod and geared .....Hardly stock , Maybe a stock motor but is it really stock with a pipe and mapped and gear?? So i see your point ...

the bashing is what keeps are sport alive and active, as i have stated i have had a busa and a gixxer 1k, and i can ride mt ass off but look at the numbers(hp), then look at who is riding., the look at after market add on's.

from my experience the two main factors are rider experience and weight, just like racing a car, hell i've seen guys on a cbr 1000 dog guys on zx-10's just because they were better rider's, i looked at the 14 again this morning and without a doubt it's a sexy machine, but my heart is with the busa. but the more i look at the 14 the more i think i have to give it a try

Fuck the Busa

Great way to get your point across in an intelligent, insightful way. Guess there are extremists on each side of the coin.

The 14 is the new king of speed. Not by much, but it is. And most busa riders acknowledge it. On the street it's going to come down to rider. But then a good rider on a 600ss is gonna wax a busa or 14 too. So it just comes down to "which one do you like better?"

this i the best statement made!! anyone who really loves riding understands these points of view, on the street it's all about the rider and i know for a fact someone out rode me on my 1000 and the busa on a r-6, yeah laugh it up but i had fun getting smashed by someone who was able to out ride me!!
with all this fighting going on between the different bike sites i'd love to see some "good" video clips of the busa, zx-14, and the zx-10 and 1000 just going at it and see who can really ride and who comes out on top

So true, you have 1000s these days with awesome riders that aren't afraid to go up against anyone on the street and will take you out even though you know you have the bigger faster bike. It comes down to the rider. Myself I have an 06' Busa and a ZX-14 and the Busa will take it in the 1/4mile but after that it is all the ZX. So right now the ZX is the King of top speed but the Busa still rules the street. Man they are both great bikes though.

The ZX-14 will take the Busa in the 1/4 mile. Hell little brother ZX-12 would take the Busa in the 1/4 mile. All hail to the king of everything (speed wise that is). No excuses Just PURRRRRRRRRRE POWER!

I have 2001 zx-12, 2002 Hayabusa and a 2006 zx-14.... I can say that I ran the fastest quarter mile run on the Busa... (9.98 Union Grove Dragestrip- Stock) I also can say that I love the looks and feel of the zx-12 (10.08 Muzzy bolt on- 10.25 Stock). (That seems to be the best fit for my body). I also love the powerband. It hits pretty hard and then keeps going. The Hayabusa is a smooth pull all the way . My NEW FAVORITE bike is BY FAR the zx-14. I could give a rats #ss about the hype and testoserone that is thrown around.. screw it!! I like what I like. The 14 styling is obviously a look of what is to come in bikes. Like it or hate it... I really believe that. Anyway, the 14s brakes kick butt... the bike is so agile and smooth in corners, (Something that I feel the Hayabusa didn't get enough credit for) and it accelerates very hard after the nueter is bypasssed. I don't care who you are, if you are in a pissing match with the 14 without riding it... it can only be because you ARE ignorant, or because you CHOOSE to be ignorant. Now if you say that you don't like the looks or the gauges or the name... that is a personal preferance and I have no problem with that... but if you are writing on here that the Busa is a better bike, I would have to ask what you could possibly base this on??!! Ride exsactly what you want... but realize that it doesn't make it the best bike available... Hey, I live in Milwaukee and everyone here rides a Harley... they think they have the fastest and best bike made... just ask them... Open up your mind and then when Suzuki gets the Hayabusa up to date... you can buy it, and truthfully write on here why the Busa is better. until then, just go with the flow and reap the benefits of what Kawi has accomplished. Like when they released the 1985 ninja... or the zx-11... the bar has been raised!!!! I am now off the soap box and getting ready to hit the street...

At the bike show back in Feb. I didn't care for the styling of the 14. The display bikes had no cover for the rear set. In my opinion this little piece of plastic changes the entire look of the bike. On the Busa boards the only real criticism relates to the appearance of the 14. NO one can argue the facts though. Before my Busa was stolen Memorial weekend a friend let me ride his 14. Well that ride gave me a totally different perspective of the bike. Coming off a 400hp bike I still enjoyed the aspects of the 14 in terms of handling, braking, and ergonomics. The small improvements make this one of the best bikes Kaw has made. In my situation I only lost out in straight line acceleration. I know the creation of the 14 will make a better replacement Busa in 07 or 08. I'll have the pleasure of owning both. The lesson I learned is don't judge the book until you read it.

Well stated, if everyone in the suzuki and yamaha camps had the attitudes stated in these last two threads, it would be a different world (maybe a little too boring, but still...). Youre absolutely correct, there is nothing wrong with having a new king, it just gives a new target for the others to shoot for. We all want the same thing, a kick ass fast bike that handles great, stops even better, looks unique, and is smooth doing all of this...

I guess "BBB" doesn't have a come back for that one, Dan. Unless he thinks a GPS or a radar gun is more accurate then the timing system used by ECTA.
