No traction and lost mph. Too much gear?

Recently installed a cut prostreet tank, lowered the bike to have arm sitting parallel, and changed from 16/41 to 16/44. Still using stock shock with gen1 busa spring. I weigh 165 suited. I hooked 1.31 to 1.33 on average with 16/42, and 1.34 to 1.36 with 16/41 and average 8.51 to 8.56 @ 158 Now the bike 60fts 1.34 to 1.36 with 8.70's @ 152 to 154 mph but only when it hooks, which is rare. What am I missing? Looking to bring bike down to 1.20's consinstenly @65.5 " wheelbase with power one, and hand clutch with stock springs. Any helpe is appreciated.

i would check the stack height and add stiffer springs. more gear could be causing you to pull thru the clutches some.

Maybe it's just hot. Have you ran the bike in these temps before? I've never felt gearing made a bunch of difference. As long as your not tagging the limiter or forced to use an extra gear, your gearing change shouldn't affect your mph very much. The loss of mph sounds like more like loss of power to heat. The lower c.g. could also be affecting your 60's. You could maybe raise it back up to see. To hook you need some weight transfer. A taller or higher cg will transfer more weight if nothing else is changed and vice versas. Kinda like tipping over something tall is much easier than something that is short and stout. Sounds like more suspension tuning may be what you need. Hot track doesn't always help traction either. Fast bike though.
