Best Swingarm for the price
Who makes the best Swingarm for the price.
I have narrowed down to this
1) Evil Swingarm
2) Adams
3) Mcintosh
More importantly what is a better buy 2-6", 4-8" or 6-10"
I am 240lbs suited 16/43 gears. I've seen many with the Evil and Adams
swing arms with under brace this will be used for both street and track. Also do
I need to buy the shock bearings. I ride a ZX14 I don't plan to use Nos/Turbo but I am
trying to break into the low 9s or even 8s with only bolt ons and possibly engine bored.
I need all assistance on this quest. Thanks in advance

All are good arms. The mcCintish is far and away the most expensive but its a VERY high quality arm. I've always heard Hardcore Arms were a great value!!' Not familiar with Evil.
As far as length typically the longer you are the faster you are but you sacrifice some street ability as
Well as potential traction issues on the street or a non prepped track. Depends on your riding style and goals I'd say

Mac Arms are sweet. Terry told me that you don't need underbracing unless you are pushing 400hp. Get the 6" to 10", once you stretch it a little, you are going to want it longer....my bike sits @ 10" over and I think it's still very streetable.

Similar times to mine but I'm about 20 lbs lighter and at SWB. 16/40, PCIII, lowered a bit but not enough to get me into the 1.5's in the 60'. I'm not as good as I'd like to be but I never practice anymore.

So could my weight be holding me back or is the suspension my issue. I see where others are getting between 8.53 - 9.2s and I'm just wondering now if its something I'm missing meaning a longer wheel base or maybe a modify my motor?

Keep in mind some of these arms are kept cheaper by deleting the bearings at the pivot in favor of an oil bronze bushing ..... If bushings were the answer the OEM's would be using them instead of all the expense of the multiple bearings they use. Bushings are fine when new but they wear especially if you street ride the bike at all. Back in the day the Z1's and KZ's had bushings and they would wear get loose and KILL YOU with a high speed wobble!! The Trac Arms are also a very good arm. I have one I picked up used that's a very nice arm with bearings at the pivot as well... It's a bit heavy in my opinion.

I have an evil 4-8 when i purchased mine i had to buy the bearings, the only thing i would have done different is purchase the three hole adjuster. From what i've heard Mac makes a chromoly arm but comes with the bearings and a tad bit more money.

But well worth the extra money.. Any of us old fucks around here will remember the KZ900 and KZ1000 days of bronze bushings in the swingarm pivot area... I've seen more than one tank slapper at 150mph traced directly to worn swingarm bushings! and that's with a short arm these long arms will wear that area way faster.
I just don't want to hear about anyone learning these things the hard way. I realize the younger guys have probably never heard of any of this since bearings came along many years ago.. I know my 1983 GPz1100 had bearings in the pivot.

Adams Performance IMO is your best choice.
Their Arms are lite and strong.
I have been 68+" with no under bracing and pull hard wheelies off the line for years with a bike/rider combo of 800lbs with zero problems.
I like to save a dollar when I can, just like everyone else.
However, no one should buy a swing arm because its the cheapest. Buy it based on proven Performance.
Your life depends on it.
