K&N Filter

Hi Kawa Comrades
Question, I have fitted a K&N Filter to my 2008 ZZR 1400, about to upgrade to the 2012 model in September, am I able to use the K&N Filter on the 2012 model?

I don't think they are compatible. That's okay though, buy a BMC filter this time around anyway.

It won't work on the 2012. The 2012 filter is bigger. I agree with indynic. Get a BMC or keep the stock filter. The stock filter flows good.

Thanks Guys! K&N and BMC ? Do they not do the same functionality, as to make your engine breathe better? Or is the one made of gold and the other platinum LOL.
Will hold on to the OEM filter for the 2012 model, maybe it is reusable (washable) I don't know.

BMC is the only readily available filter for the 2012 as of right now.

And there are dyno numbers out there that support that BMC filters make more power.

Stock vs BMC. I went with the BMC after 4500 miles. Stocker was dirty but not that bad.

No HP improvement from BMC filter.... The stock filter flows very well.

I have tested Bmc race filter vs. Stock (removed metal screen)
Result: both same power in dyno

And you can wash stock filter also.

14,25% better flow than stock (with screen)
But what are numbers if you take screen off?
