Few questions about stretching
ok, I know I'm slow at getting around to things but I was looking to stretch my 07 zx14. The main reason is for looks though, ever since I put my brocks on the bike just looks stupid with the rear end hanging way over the tire. I really just want to go 3-4 inches to balance out the look. I also really don't want to lower it, one cause I'm big 280 and I have speed bumps in my development and I want to be able to still turn the thing. so questions are
1) do I have to lower it?
2) can I get by with a busa spring in the rear or must I send the shock off?
3) what gears with this amount of stretch?.
4) I already have a new chain so I'm guessing. Extensions, longer chain guard, sprockets, stiffer spring, speedo healer, longer brake line??? Let me know if I'm missing anything please. Also I was going to order the all things chrome extensions from ebay... any thought?

If ur just going for looks then why change gearing? That would eliminate speedo healer n sprockets, u won't need shock or longer brake line either. Chain and extentions is all u need. Bike will be a little higher so u may want to get lowering links n use middle hole

1) You don't have to lower it but your kickstand might not work properly.... And it will NOT handle as well
2) You can just get a race tech spring for your weight, that's what I did (225), but if you are going to drag race it get a shock.
3) You do not have to re gear it, but on my 07 not stretched I went -1/+2 and it woke it up... If I was stretching it 6" I might go up more in the rear. It really depends on your riding style and how much top end you want to lose.
4) Sounds like you got everything (except lowering links) but don't buy the cheapest shit you can find. I have seen a few broken extensions..... Put a price on your safety and your bike, buy a good quality pair of extensions or get a used extended swing arm.
With that being said, I would just leave it alone..... It sounds like a lot of work & money for looks.

Will not only looks but it'd be nice to be able to leave harder without worrying about looping it.

I stretched my 09 14 to 7 inches. I had to use a longer chain and you do need a longer brakeline. I went up 2 in the rear which is the same as -1 in the front. I did it because she comes up about 3 to 3 1/2 feet when I launch with 600's and 1000s after I stretched I ran a busa that wasn't stretched, he came up I didn't I left him by a long stretch too. U won't need a speedo healer. And she does handle good enough just a tad less than she did without extensions, I can take 35mph corners at 100mph and 15mph corners at 45-50mph
