Ninja 250 vs ZX14 million
Ok suppose you have a 2nd generation EX250. For those of you that don't know that would be the 1988-2007 models as we all know the highly coveted 86/87 models with their 1mm narrower front forks and 120 rear tire was the trick setup with an additional 500 rpms (nevermind the fact that it hits the limiter 3000 rpms past peak). Surely the 1st gen is faster due to its lighter 120 rear tire and skinnier/lighter front forks with theoretically less aero drag, but I digress. You can't find them, they are rare as hen's teeth and worth at least 3.5 fa fillion doll hairs.
What if you had a guy with an identical weight to power ratio on the 250 as some guy who was afraid of his 14 and only shifted at 7,500 rpms.
Assuming neither bike wheelied off the line and they were even through the gears at the 330 ft mark....even though the 250 has to shift 2x as much as the 14 to go through the 1/4, would the 250's smaller frontal area have it crossing the line first?

Also, just to have all facts in hand before such a comparison is performed, would the same helmet be worn for both tests? Like the one worn by folks in those reduced length school transport vehicles?
Also, laces or velcro for the race footwear?

The 86/87 have a lighter battery box as explained in Track&Trail magazine, carb's are larger in the float boal area, I am sure that model will be faster!

Can a 12.96 @ 103 in the 1/4 squeak a win over a fat lazy slob garbage skilled 14 rider?
I can't launch much higher than 13,000 on the gauges since the limiter is at 14k. By the time the clutch fully engages at teh 60 its time for another shift since top speed in 1st is 28 mph....you can guess that 1988 designed transmission does NOT Like speed shifting and protests every step of the GYAT damn way!

To be fair the some of this weeks threads have been a real scream... but "reduced length school transport"... that's comedy gold. Definitely using that one back at the ranch.
