Picked up some winter projects

there not 14's but I keep hoping one will come through the sale. First I got an 03 Busa with a rod knocking for $1500. I have all of the engine parts to fix it. I am going to lower this one and make it a stage one turbo streetbike stock wheelbase. about 230 RWHP. Budget on this one is $4000 completed.

Next I picked up a 2010 with 1372 miles on it. this is after I stripped all of the damged plastic and bent subframe off of it. It's a gen 2 and is going to take a few more parts to fix. I found some faring stuff for it and a swingarm. I am in to it at about $2500 with the purchase price and the plastic I have bought for it.

Hmm..I think this might be pre-cursor to a new TV show called "Bike Wars" if those kind of deals are out there. WTG!

locally right now an 06 GSXR1000 is king. he's high 4.90's in the 1/8th on spray. These will never go that fast. I just buy them, fix them up then sell them. Just a Hobby. I keep waiting on a new 14R to come through but so far not even a gen 1 14 has showed up. I will keep looking.

Indeed I haven't. Then again I'm kinda new to the scooter drag scene. All I really have as far as evidence is what you, Wee, Smokin, Brock, Ivan, RG, and Fish put up here.

OK... not so much Fish but you see where I'm goin.

I cannot argue that one. Give it time. You'll still get the credit for building it when it's done though. I don't think everyone here realizes how extensive your knowledge of the ZX14 platform is.

High 5.30's on 06 zx14. On a dry kit in the /18th. Same bike never went that fast in the /18 again when it had the turbo on it. But it was faster in the 1/4 mile.

1Bad's old bike is going to be racing at nearly 150 pounds less raceweight than when he was running it and tuned for 350+ to the tire. I'm expecting some decent numbers out of it.

Pulled the farings on the 03 I bought to start getting the motor out. Tag on bars said rod knocking. here is a pic of what they said was a rod knock most common failure on a Busa. The rod bolts. This one knocked its way out of the case. If i had to guess being it's a low mileage bike and stock wheelbase and not lowered it was held on the rev limiter in neutral because I look cool in front of my friends. Squid tested...Squid approved...FAIL.

looks to me
that bearing got really hot before that bolt broke ... when a bolt breaks the rod don't get hot

Yea. Your right. Spun a bearing looks like. Then super heated the rod causing it to break. No.i never planned to fix this motor anyway. I have 4 gen 1 busa motors. Going to freshen one up with some new bearings and rings then put some HD ARP rod bolts in it then ride.
