Just got my first new bike. I bought a new 2011 ZX14 and its been more than 23 years since I rode a sport bike. No one would let me ride their bike, so I got my own. I test rode the bike today and its not as fast as
people say. I mean its fast but people act like you give it a little gas and the bike will jump a cross street.
I was not very smooth and I only choked once and thats because someone said the bike would pull with no gas. It will but I have to be a little smoother. I also notice a lot of heat from the engine. I had to get to work so I only rode it maybe a mile. I can't wait to go home and so I can really spend some time on my new bike.
If you want to know, the last bike I rode was a 89 Hurricane 1000 and I got it up to 145mph. A lot of people think I will kill myself but I guess they don't know me that well.
Any ? or comments let me know.

just ride it easy dont open it up right off, trust me covers alot of ground fast. stock they are very smooth and still have shit loads of power. its a great bike and more u ride more u will love it.

You may need to have it checked out, maybe somethings wrong with it, if you dont think its fast and the last bike you rode was a 89 Hurricane 1000.

Both prob feel the same at 5% throttle. In time, he will see.

I had a VW bug back in the late 80's that would keep up with a Honda 1000 hurricane up to about 100mph.

If you still have stock exhaust and it won't take off from idle in 1st gear smoothly, something isn't right. With a full exhaust, you will need a little gas.

New bike Ok, picked bike up Saturday and rode about 7 miles home. I guess I should say that I weigh 355lbs. The bike is fast but I heard it would pull kill me the first time I open it up. I guess some people lied just a little bit.

Think I will keep it a little longer. When I can take it pass 7000, I think I will be happy.
