Frogg Toggs are breathable rain suits for around $75. If you get a cheap $35-40 suit you will begin to understand why " Breathable" is the way to go. Any suit can keep out the rain, but you end up sweating a puddle inside it.

+1 frogg toggs, I like the bib pants '& then seperate hooded jacket. More protection and less restricted movement, hood rolled up in collar acts as a seal around bottom of helmet.

Got stuck in the rain riding to DC from NY, buddy of mine ran into the back of a restaurant and came out with 3 hefty bags.... 2 of 3 of us put them on but regardless we all got drenched. What's the moral of the story? I have no clue but wanted to share it. Glad you enjoyed the picture of the fool I googled wearing a garbage bag.

Frogg Toggs. I've spent many a full day touring in these. BUT, the crotch will leak eventually. The fix is a beaded seat cover to keep you out of the puddle of water in the seat (if you have one, stock should not be an issue IMO).

Also, make sure you go in with your gear on to test fit...you do not want these flapping in the wind. They will destroy themselves within a few miles if you get them too big.
