Go Pro Hero 2 need some help .. I just got a GoPro Hero 2 and i need some help where to put this thing .. I can't put it on the tank because will not be able to tuck in at the track ...I tried inside the wind screen but that doesn't even come close to working.. .If i put it on top of the wind screen it just jumps all over the place so that is out .. I used the suction cup and tried to mount it on the tail but it moves around too much , very unstable .. Best place i can find is just in front of the Grills right under the front turn signal .. Seems to be pretty stable there .. But i'm worried that damn thing will fly off going down the track .. It does have take a good picture at that location of the track and tree .. My biggest fear is a 300 dollar camera flying off the bike .. I'm not sure that suction cup gizmo has the power to stay there at 160 MPH or even a 1.30 60 foot time ..
What are you guys doing ? Pictures and video if you have them ... Thanks ...

I thought it would bounce around on the windshield, it's not that bad, even on the tail

I want to run it on the side of the bike so i ( we ) can see the hole track and the tree .. Top of the tank isn't going to cut it .. I guess i'll try it on the side but add a safety strap just in case it trys to to come loose ..

Next question ... I can't get the videos to down load to my puter .. Well it does down load theM ( i think ) but i can't find them 90% of the time .. I'm using the real time player to see them when i do find them but no way to up load them to Youtube that i can find .. So i went to Go Pros website and down loaded their progam to view them .. No luck with that either ..I still can find them ... I have no problem with my other camera doing this , it does it on its own when i plug in the USB cable ..
Guy i'm really bad at this kind of stuff so tell me someway i can do this with out a lot of funking hassle .. Right now i'm thinking a hammer to smash the camera like i did the air shifter parts ...
And how the funk do you charge this thing .. it has no charger with it and said just plug it in to your USB port on your home P/C and it will charge it ? How the hell is that going to work ? MY p/c got some kind of Battery charger in it that i didn't know about?

Your GoPro battery is charged directly through the USB cable. But I purchased a separate battery charger from Amazon. It comes with two extra batteries and a car adapter.
I also use Cyberlink Power Director to edit my videos. There are better video editing programs out there. Most folks use Corel Studio, Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas.

Lee,
It most likely came with a USB cable that will plug into the camera and your puuter. Amazing as it sounds, it will charge the battery in the camera. Big end to USB port in puuter and small end to camera. It is refreshing to hear that I am not the only computer illiterate.

Lee, we have successfully mounted a GoPro to the side of a 14, using the sticky mount, and it is solid to at least 199.3 mph. I would not hesitate to mount it like that if you are willing to use the sticky mount.
The GoPro format should be viewable with the latest version of Windows Media Player. I also use the latest windows movie maker to edit.

Suction cup will hold at 183... I have confirmed that personally but have not posted anything like that due to fear of incriminating myself. When you say there is no program that will run the damn thing on your computer, what exactly are you referring to? Clicking the video link and it does not open anything? Or it opens something and it will not run?
As far as software goes there are several different options, personally I use windows movie maker (free). http://windows-live-movie-maker.soft32.com/free-download?gclid=CJOol-bU37ECFYLb4AodbAwA6w . There is also VLC Media player which is free but I have never tried that one http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
In a nut shell. you are going to copy videos from SD card to your computer, convert them to YouTube format (built into live movie maker), edit if necessary, upload.... not too much hassle... hope that helped

Lee, try plugging the camera into the computer. Click on My Computer and see if it shows up there as an external drive.

Okay...download VLC PLayer...it's an aftermarket video player.Install it(it's free).NOW....to download your vids...plug in the USB....turn camera on.(it will automatically come on when you plug in the usb,but you need to turn it OFF,then back on to get to the download program in the camera.
Open 'my computer'....if the window doesn't automatically open for you when you plug in the cam.See those drive icons?....click on the one that's a 'new' one....drive 'j' on mine. It'll open...you see the folder "gopro"...click on that...forget 'misc'....click now on the 'gopro' one...it'll open a new small download window...where to save it....highlight..."my videos'...now click on 'copy'(the video has to be highlighted).Let it download.(if you don't have a 'my videos' folder...'my pictures' will work...any folder will work...so long as you know where you're putting them)
NOW....unplug your cam(once it downloads).(for multiple vids...just repeat)
NOW...delete the vids by turning on the cam....push power button again till you scroll to THIS ICON(settings)(with a little wrench on it).Now use the shutter button to scroll to the 'delete' menu.....use the power button to chose your option(MORE)with three little dots on it)....push the shutter button again...now hit the shutter button to open the delete menu(two menus)scroll with the shutter button to>>>(delete all).Hit the shutter button...the cam will flash.Your done...push and hold the power button to turn cam off.
Your vids are now saved in 'my videos' folder. If you don't have a 'my videos' folder...you'll need to create one...but it should already be in your computer.
YOU CANNOT DELETE(format)the camera from your computer. You have to format(erase) the vids in the camera by doing the steps above.
Your suction mount will stay attached easily at all the way up to breakneck speeds....
You may need to record in R1...standard def mode.Your computer MAY not be able to replay true HD.Mine wouldn't.
To recharge...simply leave camera off..plug in your usb.A red light will come on...when it goes out...she's charged.BTW...whenever you have the usb plugged in...even for downloading...the cam is charging. But to get a full dedicated charge...you need to have the cam shut off.
