Ceramic Coated CT Meg installed!
The CT Meg was installed last night and everything was buttoned up. The new plasic is major PIA and it was bear getting everything installed back together correctly. After work today I rode for about 100 miles and I find this pipe is REALLY LOUD. I had my I-pod ear buds in and still my ears were ringing when I got home. Since I picked the pipe up used I am wonding if all the packing is burned out or when I got the can ceramic coated all the packing was not put back in. Love the look of it though. Dont have any pics of the bike all finished but I snapped a few as it was put back together. Anyone else find the CT Meg really loud! I am going to pick up a Noise reduction plug and see if that helps.

Looks good. The plate really stands out in a good way. I've only heard a CT Meg a on a couple of other bikes, but I didn't think it was too loud. I've got an older Smeg on mine and I like it.

I haven't heard the CT Meg in person but I have CT Duals. My initial thought after install and my first ride was, that they were too loud. That after putting over 4k miles on the bike with the stock silencers. While I wanted a richer sound, and didn't want a LOUD pipe, I had really come to enjoy the stealth OEM pipes. The power delivery felt seamless and everytjhing was very smooth. I had never ridden any new bike I owned more than a 1K miles with stock pipes, with the exception of my BMW K1600.
I can only say that it had to have been just the obvious comparison/contrast because now a bit over a week later and a few hundred miles and while the duals aren't quiet by any means, they sound very rich and even mellow at cruise, with a bark during aggressive roll on's. Maybe that will be the case for you. Also I assume you know that Brocks has been pretty clear that the db killer the CT series pipes is a big time power robber with as much as 5-7 HP loss. Maybe that doesn't matter to you...the R's are pretty stunning in the amount of power they deliver.
Other than sound, curious as to how you found the power delivery improvements or overall comments on what the full exhaust has done for your 14R?

Here some pics of the finished CT install. Rode it 30 miles today with ear plugs in and it was fine with plugs in. I still think that its pretty damn loud and any trip over 10 miles is going to have to be with ear plugs. I think it looks pretty awesome in black. Kawifast I actually think that I may have lost a little bit of low end torque with the CT meg. On the higher RPM or at higway speeds in 6th the power increase is noticable though. When you twist the throttle at highway speeds in 6th the thing just comes to life and pulls like a bear. I did notice that when the traction control is on 1 I can feel it being neutered with the CT and with the stock exhaust I could not feel it. Turing the T/C off cures the little stumble I could feel when taking off in first. Overall the bike feels a little lighter and I may try the sound reducing plug even at the cost of a few HP as I take good size trips on a regular basis.

Great choice and the CT Meg looks perfect, ceramic coated as you did it on your black 14R. Enjoy!

Did you say you have a PC5 with Brocks Street map loaded? I think my CT duals may be a little softer on the bottom vs stock as well, but nothing real significant. While maybe a tad softer, the power delivery does feel more linear.

Yes kawifast, PCV with Brock's street map 2. Bike seems to run great with the map. You just have to remember to turn TC off or you will feel it kick in otherwise on a hard start. 200+ miles so far and the CT is starting to grow on me. I guess I just had to re-adjust from sewing machine quiet exhaust to the roar of a lion

I know exactly what you mean At first I thought the duals were too loud after 4000 miles of silence Now I find them very mellow.
