I had the fastest 2012 ZX14R and now i have the slowest 2012ZX14R Went to are local 1/8 mile track to test te new drag pac clutch set up ... I had drove it on the street a little today and seems very nice but the real test would be tonight at the track ..
As i pulled into the track they were having a big mud bogging race thing that was just ending .. Also the MX track was in full swing ... I unloaded and walked up to the track and asked them if they were going to prep the track and he said they did it Friday and it didn't need any prep .. There was zero VHT on the track , just loads of dirt , dust and mud...I ask the guy " you want me to run a 5.40 bike on that ? " He said that all your are getting and it will hook .. I made two passes , one in each lane .. Blew the tire of in first and every gear there after ...Second Pass same as the first ... I think my best was an 9 second pass at 47 MPH ... Funny part was the return road hooked like a bear !! First time i have ever seen the return road hook better than the track ..lol..
Anyway it was a waste of my 15 bucks , fuel and time .. I loaded up and came home ..I just hope i didn't hurt the motor banging the limiter so damn hard on those two passes ..
So now i own both ends of the record , the fastest stock motor ZX14R on pump gas and the slowest ZX14R on pump gas ... Not really a record i want to be known for .. But it is what it is ..
I'll have to wait till next Thusday night and go to a real track and test the new clutches .. Oh well the 1/4 mile will give me more feed back on the new set of clutches than the 1/8 would anyway .. ____________

That sucks, lucky you you didn't crash like "fullthrottlekaw" in the other thread. At this day and age you would think the track people would be a little more concerned about riders safety by prepping the track properly. Like I said, count your blessings. There is always next time.

You are right .. He is a new owner ( his first drag strip ) He will either fix the problem or he will not be an owner for long .. He came over to me and said he was sorry , i just said no problem that i understood .. No good could come from me yelling at him .. If i was 25 years younger he would have got an ear full .. ____________

Well... you probably did the right thing: try to salvage a shitty situation.
I still suffer slightly from what polite society calls "anger management" issues... especially when ive paid money for something.
No physical violence... just call someone a "cock-sucker" when its obvious they have their hand in my wallet.

You had that same type night I had when we switched over to the 180 series Shinko. That was a night race for us and you could walk across the starting line with no sticky underfoot at all. And the dew fell early so everything you touched was wet, including the track past the 330' mark. I still swear that every track outing you learn something though. I guess you learned you don't drag race your 14R down a dirt drag strip huh??? lol
BTW, I guess it's better to have both ends covered than neither end covered as far as records go.

At least you got an apology. Otherwise, I sure as hell would have gone back over and reminded him of his "words of wisdom" after blowing the tire off in both lanes.

I SURE LIKE ALL THE TOUGH GUY COMMENTS.. IF i was the track owner I'd escort y'all ass right out my gate as soon as your mouths open .. with a never to return note left at the gate ..
i'd reserve the right to do what i want to fukktards on my property .. hehe ..
PS i also own a very big front end loader with 6 ft tires on it .. great at crushing loud mouths and their vehicle on my property .. i guess thats why most tracks just have rent a cops

Lol.... Yeah, lovin' your tough guy comments too, 1bad.....anybody that actually has the nerve to complain about a shitty track after the owner tells 'em "it'll hook" should be kicked out after being stomped by your studly front end loader. That's the key to running a successful business....hahaha.

Well 1bad it was the track .. When a stock honda civic spins and does a 360 NASCAR suffle half track it's the track not the car .. Hell the 4x4 mud trucks could not hook .. I dead hooked on the return road , never had that happen before ..
This track always hooks good , or did before the new owner took over ...It was known to be the best hooking track in South. 31 years of racing this track hook was never a problem ..The new owner has no broom, no blower , no track swiper , no mops , no MEK , No nothing .. His track sprayer doesn't spray it dribbles little drops of VHT about a foot apart .. We only had 10 people show up and he told me he can't spend any more money on the track.. Friday night Bracket race only two people showed up .. It kills me is the track is only 7 miles from my house while the 1/4 mile track is and hour and a half drive ..
I really hate to see this happen to my home track with all the good history it has .. It's the only track in the USA that is in the city limits and in a County of one millon people ..Built by Don ( Big Daddy ) Gartets and Art Malone in 1958 ..
If they can't fix the problems i'll have to make the drive to BMP . That cuts my test and tune down from four times a month to two times a month ..

you just describe navasota raceway and little river raceway .. .. navasota has a twin launching ramps in the left lane .. you go airborne for about 20 ft at the 60ft then at the 330 you catch about 30ft more of air .. i've seen a 14 second 1/8th mile AMC Pacer spin out in the right lane at navasota.. ..but i still ran a 5.60 there right behind him .. little river is in a tunnel of pecan trees with pollen falling on the track and leaves too..
