I got the itch.

Now that I have about 2k miles on my new 14 I got the itch to get rid of the big silver missle launchers (AKA exhaust) hanging off the back. Ofcourse I figured I would see what you guys like, recomend and so on. You guys led me in the right direction with the GPR stabilizer. I would really prefer a single sided full system and I need some I deas on what kind of power comanders you guys use. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Probably not going to be the first to say this, but the Brooks CT seems to be pretty good as well as the map support.

It never ceases to amaze me how often this question is asked lol. Here is the short. If you are looking for the most performance in a drag racing or aggressive street riding application on a 14r I really believe at this point the Brock exhaust are the only real choice. If its a gen 1 14 then there are a lot of good choices. As far as pipe itself there will not be a noticeable difference between the Muzzy and te Brock as long as you get the m14 headers from muzzy. What in my opinion sets Brock apart is his map support. I have had several different 14's with several different pipe and map combos, and I honestly do not believe you can find a better "boxed" map the Brocks. I would even go as far as to say in most cases a custom tune would yield no real benefit except in cases where there are extreme weather differences from where you live and normal America. I.e mountains or pacific northwest and even then I am not sure a custom tune would be worth the money unless you want every ounce of power out of it.

Good luck and keep us updated and post some pics of te bike.

Brock vs Muzzy??????

This is not a discussion.

Muzzy support = pffffffffffffffffffffttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt! (except Dave Turner)

Brock support = platinum

I say there is a decision there. if you are all ballz out racing it and want every little inch of performance and no concern for money then go with the brock. but if you just just some better performance, a better look and almost 1/2 the price go for the muzzy (and only a couple hp short of brock). then you will save enough to get a pc with $ left over, and will be provided a map for the pipe to boot. And if you are so HP crazy to get a brock anyway, the map support is not even an issue as you will have a tuner on speed dial to get the most out of it anyway.

soo, all out performance = brock, pc, custom map.
damn near the same but save alot street = muzzy, pc, plug in map.

I had a Brocks pipe on my 09 and it worked well.
I just put a Muzzy exhaust on my 2012 and i am very happy with it. Excellent quality, perfect fitment, The tone is nice and deep and loud but not overbearing. I finally wont wake the neighbors up early in the morning (unless i really want to).

My muzzy full system cost me $598 shipped to me. And my PCV cost me $278 shipped.
So i have $876 in everything needed. If i went with brocks i would be looking around $1300 - $1500 after everything was said and done.

The power and everything is still there with the muzzy exhaust, and if i want i still have money left to buy a few other parts.

Just my $.02

Ok so you guys have narrowed it for me, two choices..awesome, Now i have another newbie question lol. With these computers, do they come programmed or is that something you have to do yourself. Honestly I have never had to deal with the power comander but I know to get the most out of this bike Im gonna have to get that too. I guess what im trying to ask is you install the exhaust, and the PC and then its ready to go or do you have to go in and set up the PC?

A PCV is not mandatory but will help if your looking for the best performance from your pipe. If you are going to be drag racing, or LSR you can spend about the same and get your ECU flashed to have the top speed limiter removed, RPM limit raised, TRE removed, KTRC "unlocked" AND have a map added to it. It will cost about $100 more than a PCV but IMHO it will be a better investment which will give you more bang for your buck.

Boy that is some very interesting advice. The Brocks system sure has a great look, and the LSR reflash of the ECM is a great piece of info as well. Thx Im always surprised that people dont spend the coin and get a pro dyno tune when changing the exhaust, but then again not every tuner has real experience of knowledge to tune the complete RPM Band, so many only care about the biggest number possible. But anyway I also appreciate this thread....

Not gonna say anything is wrong with a plug n play map, but to me its like putting hubcaps on a porshe.

Actually the ECUnleashed ECU flash has a "custom" map in it made for the Brock's CT.... Guhl from what I understand is able to load a custom map in his reflash, and his is cheaper with more KTRC improvements

That is quite possible one of the most ignorant statements that I have seen in a while. There are several members going really fast both on the drag strip and in LSR with Brock's maps. I personally have ran a personal best on motor of 8.72 at 155mph in 2000+ feet of air on a Brock's map, but whatever.
