PC Auto-tune.

I just went to a "new" Cobra PowrPro on my Raider. It automatically adjusts for all conditions on the fly to give you the right tune as you go. It sounds like the cat's meow and, so far, it's been awesome. No maps, adjustments, downloads, etc. Does the Auto-tune for the PC do basically the same thing or do you still have to download maps and adjust? Will the ECU reflash take care of all this w/o further attention? I'm looking for street good and no fiddling once it's in.

Thanks.

i hope this works better than their radar detectors .. only 4 cylinder i seen that this product works on was a vmax from 85-07 everything else was twins .. and without it reading a/f's or egt's i'd like to see how long this would work on a nitrous bike or turbo.. not hating... i just can't see any good from tuning off of acceleration alone..

i really like how cobra thinks a dyno tunes off acceleration alone ..

I can't begin to argue the technical aspects, as I have no knowldege of such. However, thus far, the bike is running brilliantly. Not a whole lot of testing done yet, though. Hoping for the best.

My brother has an auto tune on his 14 and has run nitrous with it on.Worked perfect he set it at 13.1afr for street and 11.8afr on spray and has had no problems with 100+ nitrous runs.
I have on on order so when I get my turbo kit I dont have to drive to a dyno thats 300 miles away

Yep, I'll either go Auto-tune or ECU reflash, I reckon. I don't know much about either. Still figuring.

Autotune samples the emmissions and suggests fuel trims. You have to download the DJ software to view the trims. you USB your PC5 to the computer and view trims. you can accept trims or not.

i hear wideband2 is superior to Autotune. very similar device.

I have also heard the sensor burns out and dshould be replaced occassionally. Mine did the trick after the first fuel trims accept. one month of sampling and accept voila. Only reason to keep messing with it is if I wanted to try mapping for colder weather, or maybe race conditions, nitrous, etc.

if you want to tune for all gears all rpm, you will need to break the law an awful lot. Racetrack would be best place. Still have to do a lot of runs as AT works best after "learning" your AFRs many times over.

Hmmm...Maybe the PC-V and one of Brock's maps will still be the best way to go, then.

Much obliged.

^^If you got a Brock's pipe. But you'll notice Brock welds a couple bungs in all of his sytems to accept an O2 sensor. He must think they are good for something.

I would try the Brock's maps. You get as much as he has for your bike if you buy his pipe and that goes for used also. If you decide a full system is for you (and I sincerely CAN say that is the best way to go for handling improvement regardless of what you do with the hpower increase) I would only run it with a PC and proper map. A full system may be too much change to AFR to run safely. Especiallly for street riding rpm where the stock fueling may be leaner than race rpm.

Yeh, I have the full CT Meg system. The general consensus is you should be fine on the street w/it. I was wondering, as well. There were some opinions and a few hard numbers that didn't look too bad for running it that way. I'm still a little concerned, though. We'll see how it goes.
