texas mile info
I am thinking about taking the 2012 and running at the mile in march, but i have a question, can you change the sprockets in factory stock? if not, how do I get around the 186 mph limiter? this thing should go damn near if not 200 in a mile dont you think?

Yes you can change gears and still be stock .. I'd get the ECU reflashed and remove the top speed limiter also ..

You will have to get a speedo healer, or do a gearbox mod to get around the 186, I did the healer because my 14 is an everyday drive and I wanted my speedo to work. If I had to make a guess on what the new 14 would do stock I would put it at about 192. It is much harder the most people think to break 200mph
Back in 07 when I was there, most zx14, busas, and zx12s were needing a 50-70 shot of nos to get in the 198-202 mph range.
The bone stock busas were running about 172-177 and the zx14s were running 174-181. I was really surprised by those numbers because I would have thought that they would of been mid 180's minimum. A couple of things to keep in mind the track temp that day was over 100 degrees with a slight head wind.
My first shake down pass was running 5 lbs of boost ( around 220hp) and I was at about 194 mph, it wasn't till I boosted up to 12 lbs till I broke the 230mph mark. I was soooo bummed out because I spun my back tire going in to 4th gear on that pass .. By spinning the tire at that speed with the asphalt temp at over 120 degrees shredded my back tire and I wasn't able to. Ale any more passes . Just knowing that I had most 300hp to use , no telling what speed we would of hit.
This time I go I am bringing a few sets of tires

speedo healer will not work on the new zx14r .. You need to reflash the ECU ..

My apologies, I have been out of the game for a few years with a nearly critical illness, so I am not up to date with the latest technology with the new 14

WFD,
we were rooting for you as Terry turned up the boost, disappointed when you shredded the tire. Has it really been since 2007 when you were there? Time flies
RB,
If you wanna run in March, better see pronto if there are any grid spaces left, registration has been open for some time, and they normally fill it fast.
Beeville is much like Goliad, although much bigger venue, but the track is similar, longer shut down. Some folks don't likea couple bumps in the track.
I ran 218 on NA Busa at Beeville in Oct into a headwind. Bumps in track weren't an issue for me.

Hey you Texas and nearby Texas folks, are any of you besides RB planning on running Texas in March on the ZX14R??? It would be cool to see if a stock bike can crack 200mph!

quote: I have an 06 Hayabusa that I built to break 200mph in the standing mile. Its been highly modified but its still street legal. I've went 201mph on it this past July. I went through the motor and made sure it wasn't hurt and redynoed it at 207hp with 119 torque. That's an all motor bike, no nitrous or turbo. Its one of the fastest all motor bikes in the state. I have put together a list of some of the mods that I've done to it. I'll try to find some pictures of it somewhere. Its all black and I have most of the original burgundy fairings in the attic. I don't have the fairings on it right now because I'm reworking the 24volt starting system. Let me know if you are interested and we can talk. I would really like an 08 or newer 1000cc sport bike with less than 10k miles on it. I want to build a liter bike with a turbo to race now. My bike has right around 9k miles. Its in great condition and it needs to go to someone who will ride her more.

Ryan ran his 201 at Loring, Maine 1.5mi event last year; it's way more difficult with the persistant head wind at Texas 1.0mi. (not a tit even at Loring)
With a lil tail wind stock motor Gen2 Busas & Zx14's have run just over 200 in the Mile. Gotta ride the piss out of it, but it can be done.
The extra hp of the ZX14R could certainly put it over 200 if the rider is experienced and the weath cooperates. Bring those big boys out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loring = 3-4-5 or so passes a depending on how fast you get back in line, hot lap sun pm.
300' x 14000' is in very, very good shape.
