both bikes were slammed, my bike was geared -1+1 not sure about his. both of us weighed around 200 he claimed 200 and i was 197 so close enough
wow only 1-3 bikes for your 08 with a yosh pipe!
Kinda crazy huh lol I think the rider is on here I forgot his screen name.

So why have you only been .04 quicker then your 09? don't say seat time. your already in the 1.30's for 60 foot. You think you had one strong 09 and one of the weaker 12's?

But look at smokin's 14R. These things have a hell of a back half. He is already 2 tenths quicker than his 09 and he doesn't even have a power commander.

Wow, I expected the new 14 to crush the old pretty bad. I guess being 170lbs with my brocked out geared 07 I don't have to worry as much about the new 14 as I figured
Bring'em on! lol
Not until you meet up with a 140 lb. guy on a brocked out geared '12.

Well at least there IS something that will run with the BMW now... I got so board of kicking the teeth out of Busa's and ZX-14's at my home track in 2010 that I only went a couple of times in 2011.
Here’s the scoop: The 14R will go quicker in the 1/4, set up apples to apples and be FAR easier to ride in the process than the BMW – all that torque will make sure of that. The land speed guys are going to love it also. We used to see the same thing with Busa’s and GSX-R’s. The lighter bikes would jump out, but the Busa’s would roll back up and motor past. Some say it was aero’s and that helped for certain, but the torque really came into play at high speeds – more than most guys think.
You guys are hilarious btw! It’s like stomping on an ant hill in here sometimes and I have to tell you… It makes me smile.
I hope you can see the ‘this should be funny to watch’ shitty grin on my face every once in a while (:

Lets do the math ..
My 06 in good air 8.77
My 09 in fair air and tail wind 8.76
MY 2012 Not so good air in a head wind 8.52 ..
So on avg 2.5 tenths faster than a Gen 1 zx14 ...And without a p/c or tune .. Remember i was off bikes for 8 months so you can't say i just got better at riding setting in my sofa...In a damn head wind i have seen as high as 161.75 in the 1/4 mile ..
Anyone thinking a gen1 zx14 is a match for a gen 2 zx14r stock for stock or mod for mod has rocks for brains .. Or i guess i'm just lucky and kawi hand picked a zx14r for me and sent me a ringer .. Some how they knew what dealer i was going to buy it from and at just the right time to ship it and also knew the color i wanted .. Unbelievable..
So far i can count on one hand the number of zx14rs that have been down the drag strip.. Just wait till these bikes start showing up in numbers with skilled riders on them and watch the numbers drop .. My 8.52 is going to look slow very soon ..

Wow, this has gotten interesting because one claims to have beaten a 14R with his BMW. As I said in an earlier post my BONE STOCK 14R has beaten two different S1000s and one of them was about 100lbs overall than me. Does that make his claim a lie? No, just different bikes n different days he beat one with his BMW and I beat two BMWs with my 14R and my races were not close.

That is really funny, because when I first got my CBR900rr, I took it up to 180 (indicated) then I figured out that it was about +3 on the rear. When I changed it back to stock, it still hit 180 (indicated). That was at the redline. Not sure how much more it could have pulled, but I know the engine would not have held together since it would have been a few thou past the redline.

When the CBR900 came out its biggest competition was the GSXR-750 which was just as fast if not faster. Similiar hp and top end speeds as well. Mid 160's I believe stock. Now those were the days when bikes were slow and men were bored lol. I can't imagine riding some of the Kings of Speed from 30 or so years ago, would feel slow as molasses. How did we entertain ourselves on 2 wheels back then??

hmmm, 160's seem a little slow, but, as I said, 180 was indicated speed. BTW, I have a 99, not the original 92, so maybe that would account for the speed difference. I am NOT making any claims (who would brag about top spped on an old 900rr anyway?), just saying what the speedo claimed.Guess I will have to get the GPS and test it out when I get back from Georgia.
