Zx-14 header diameter.
Hello,
Its been years since i have been around here. Years ago i had a zx-12 but had to sell it. Anyway, does anyone know the header diameter for tge zx-14. I have searched and found the outlet diameter but what i need is the header(down tube) diameter.
Thanks,
Huero

I guess really what I want to know is if the zx-14 header pipe is a bigger diameter than the headers on the concours 14? I know alot of people swap but wonder if its just for the duals or if the down tubes are actually bigger.
Thanks,
Huero

Since the Concours engine produces less power, I would think it would be safe to say the header pipes are bigger on the ZX14.

Thanks for the reply. I bet youre right. I just wondered how big they were. I just wondered if it was worth buying an aftermarket header.
Today, i will mic the concours headers and know what diameter they are. Is anyone able to mic the zx header?
Thanks,
Huero

Wheelie, i measured the concours 14 header at 34mm. That seems like a a big difference to me. Seems tlike the zx header would have a lot better flow.
Thanks for taking the time to measure yours,

I dug out my oem pipes from my '09 ZX14 and took some measurements, sorry but you'll have to convert as my old school calipes are in inches.
At the flange where the pipe fit's into the exhaust port in the head: I.D. 1.36" & O.D. is 1.64"
The O.D. before the downturn right behind the collar is 1.51"

Wheelie,
Hey i as just re-reading this thread. I measured the the header after it bolts to the head and aftet it makes the first 90` turn. So, if the headers were mounted on the bike, i measured just about the bottom of the radiator.
Is this where you measured 44mm?
Thanks again,
