i dont know how the ecu works but it just made me think of a car ucu picking up a problem with a tranny it goes in limp mode . maybe with traction controle and all that they have it set up the same

lee, sorry to hear you had that problem. The MPS auto shift box is a great box and works well, but if it ever gives you a problem about shifting PM me and I will tell you what's up with that. I use the SB 6 now an MPS makes a small shift box for it and it works even better. Hope everything comes together for you.

Thanks Ken , if i have any problems i'll drop you a PM .. Lucky for me MPS is just a short drive from me .. So if i need replacement parts it's no biggie .. i hope ..lol

Lee,
A ECU cost over 900 buck new, Ghul can replash your ECU and make the timing, top speed and extend the revs. The cost is 375.00. I thnk that's the best way to go.
As to Cycle tek, I would reach out to them and request they pay for your ECU wows and refund your cash you paid for their item. They sold you a unit didn't work and broke a crucial part of your new motorcycle.

Smokin,... I thought that the TRE just made the FLIES open because the ECU was tricked into thinking it was in 6th gear, maybe the Flies arn't opening, maybe just take them out ??
What RPM do Flies start opening , only stumbled in 1st and 2nd above 3,000 , if Flies not starting to opening at 3000, and you giving more throttle,,,, Throttle Positioner is telling ECU fire injectors, but not enough AIR because Flies not responding, to match GAS , thus Flooding cylinders.
Like running with CHOKE mostly closed on Carb, maybe it just fired the 2nd flies control? Just a thought...go back to my brown box now, i tired

Glad you got it "fixed" brother. This is part of the reason I'm keeping my mods simple for now,,,,,,, you guys are providing invaluable info for what works and what doesn't on the new 14R. Thank you!!

Well it was not the flies .. I tested that before i every got to the TRE part .. I pulled the flies and it was still missing , put them back in and still missing .. Put the TRE in and it stopped , reinstall the flies again and still runs great .. Myself i'm a little worried about the after market lock tight holding the screws in place , so i removed the flies and i'm going to leave them out ... So the only thing the TRE is doing right now is running the 6th gear mapping , timing and fueling ..

I need to figure out this new kleen setup, not sure if you can just cap everything (connects to tb's) and unplug it?

Guys I am having the same problem with mine, just went out and tried to sort it out, still happening, the only thing that happened with mine was I got code 24 and 27 so I am not sure that, that would do something to the ECU. Same exact symptoms as Lee 1st and 2nd only same rpm range and is gone in 3rd, Shane I am gonna check that plug but I don't remember even messing with a plug on that side.

Smokin.. did you do swingarm extentsion at same time ? Could some wire in back be broke , pinched or TC switch be shorting out, grounding, ? questions ??? Ideas ??? LOL

Are you in TC mode 1? Or is it off?

Have tried both Lee and I talked and we think there might be a common thing we expeiranced so I am gonna send my Ecu to Guhl and see if we can get this figured out, it's cold up here so I can't ride anyway. Lee can ride and is using his ECU with the TRE

Is it related to ecu damage, or something else? Please elaborate, that way others can potentially avoid or prepare for the issue. Thanks.

TC works great .. The wire for it is in the same loom as before .. pleanty of slack , no pinching .. No TC codes never popped up on mine like Toms did ..

scary, hope all goes well on the fix for this. is this only happening on stretched bikes? or is the air-elec shifters screwing with the ecu?

Just no way to know at this point .. Wheelies bike is fine so far ( wheelies bike is 12 over and air shifted ) .. There are not many of us yet doing all the mods for all out drag racing .. But we do have two bikes now with what looks to be the same problem .. Two of the best are working hard to find out what happened and why .. It may take some time to find a cause but i'm sure it will get ironed out ..

Quick question has anyone else had a code 27 (front wheel sensor) when they were on the dyno? If you got this code did your yellow engine warning indicator and your KTRC warning indicator light come on. The only reason I am asking this is to narrow down possibilities of problem because if other people had this happen on the dyno which makes sense because you aren't getting a rotating wheel signal from the front, ( Lee didn't have this code pop up) and their bikes are working fine than that's one less cause. Because my rear wheel sensor wasn't hooked up I also got a code 24 (rear wheel sensor). But I did use the pass button to operate my second stage (the pass button uses a ground to activate the high beam relay). That is why we aren't sure and I am gonna send it to Don/Guhl we both have different situations but the same symptoms. Not doing anymore til I get some answers.

if your ecu map did get corrupted either a ecu flash or a power commander would remedy the problem as well. i know guhl is modifying certain areas of the ecu but i'm not sure if they are changing the fuel mixture. they should be able to flash the ecu back to stock.

I would see if you can sneak in a warranty claim for a new ECU. If it took a hit enough to damage the programming it could of also damaged the memory chips holding that program!!!!!!!!
