shawnski,
I'm curious...
why all the ragging on Rickey?
yup, Lee & Shane & wee & others have posted cool stuff about the 14R, but you run down all Rickey's posts bc he gets paid for it?
what's up with that?
Rickey just gave you same day, same set up 1/4mi comparo of 14 & 14R.
This is exactly what everyone has been wanting to see.
Lee & Shane & wee & others (bless their souls) did NOT give you that.
I don't understand your perspective.
Karl
He has little penis syndrome.
Really??? You guys just figure everything out ..u guys are just good on everything bunch of morans with ego problems. hey don't worry about me .. you go worried about kissing and sucking some asses..

wow what a shame. Yes old 14 owners your bikes are slow compared to the new one's get over it.
Hell the GenII busa is slow compared to the new 14. It is a 1441 jack offs . It will distroy the old 14.
Man Ricky it is almost unbelievable to see an 8.99 time slip on a stock bike with a 1.5? sixty foot.
These guys cant read time slips because if they could they would have been shut the hell up.
Now stop trying to impress idiots and please stretch that baby so I can see that beast go.
I understand why you shake your head in the video because can understand what the time slip is saying. Most of these guys need 1.3? to get into the 8's. keep up the great work slick Rick.
Long live RG.

to clear few things out since some people here take things very personal... 2012 zx14r is bad ass bike.. i don't doubt that.. kawasaki would have not made the bike if it was not faster or more powerful or more refined.. we all love motorcycles and we are here to discuss our opinions regrdless of you agree or disagree.. we all had zx12r and zx14s and we know they get better and better each time they change them.. so if people here raise questions or argue about weights and mods etc..etc.. respect their view of things regardless of you agree or disagree.. be open minded about things.. you know we all can do things to our bikes to make it faster and faster so it is never ending project ...we are lucky and fortunate to own these super bikes regardless of 170 or 190 hp but they are some people not as fortunate as we are..
so ride you bikes make them faster and enjoy the short life we live.

What did you just say about RG? Watch the video, he said he rented the track, I didn't see any KHI 18 wheelers there. Care to discus this any farther? Rickey "does" care about the 14 buts that's just my opinion.

Even though I doubt I will be getting one for a while, I am satisfied to have a geneeral idea of just how much the power difference is for the stock 14 vs14r and when the exhaust removed, again, the general idea of what will be available with a lighter, less restrictive exhaust installed.

First off, before you guys throw me under the bus. I am not paid by or sponsored by Kawaski by no means. I have sought sponsorship from them to no avail. However, I have raced the zx14 for the last few years (Jones Performance Cycles; riders John Fernandez, Todd Schnitz, Richard Gadson, and occasionaly Rickey) and developed turbo systems, and several other products for the zx14 and other bikes. As a privateer, my efforts with the zx14's have won a National Championship and won nearly 15 national races. I chose the zx14 as a building platform simply because it was one mean unit, and secondly I was bored out of my mind bulilding/racing Hayabusa's and wanted a change. I can honestly say back in 2006-2007 I remember less than five zx14's being contested in the national classes at AMA dragracing events. That soon changed once the potential was realized. Now that you have a little back ground about me, here is what I leading up to. The efforts that Rickey Gadson has put forth to provide test results and data about the new zx14r are true and sincere. I have already done dyno testing on the new zx14r, along with having one tore completly apart to study and prep/build the motor for racing. Simply put there is really no way to compare the old zx14 to the new zx14r in a stock format. Kawasaki has provided the world with the baddest production bike on the market. PERIOD. Rickey is a paid employee of Kawasaki, however as a professional I don't think that he would risk his dignity by providing anyone here or elsewhere with false information about the performace of the new 14r. I have known Rickey personally for years, and just like any other human when you put forth a campaign to support an agenda/product and it is greeted with negativity; IT HURTS!! We actually spoke directly about this situation a few days ago. I admire Kawaski for the forging ahead and building new bikes such as the zx10 and 14r in such bleak economic conditions. We must be thankful sometimes; drop the egos and negativity. We are truely lucky to have a cool forum such as zx14.com, and members such as Rickey, Brock, Smokin, and many others to provide valid input and help to those that share the same interest and love for motorcycles. Sincerely, Chris Jones

Oh yes it happened , we all saw it ..
Well guys, HISTORY IS MADE!!!!
Today, in Palmdale, California, WITH A 25 MPH HEAD/CROSS WIND, in front of all the Cycle World editors and representatives of Ducati, Honda, Triunph, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Yamaha, Rickey G does the impossible. In a test for Cycle World for the best Middle Weight bike out, Dragracing has now experienced it's first BONE STOCK 9 second 600 pass..... Or passes!!! Guess what....... It wasn't on a Kawasaki. The Yamaha R6, ran a BLISTERING 9.93@135mph, backed up by a 9.98@135mph. The numbers were.....
1.54 60'
4.17 330'
111mph 1/8mi.
9.93@135mph
NOTE, these bikes are the dictionary definition of stock. NO WEIGHT, stock pipes, -1 front sprocket, lowered, no race gas or motor work, and THAT'S IT!!!!
The test bikes included the Ducati 749, Triumph 650, Honda CBR 600RR, Suzuki GSXR 600, Kawasaki ZX-6R, and Yamaha R6. The test started with ALL the bikes at stock height. The Ducati went 10.71@127mph. The Triumph went 10.60@129mph( ). The Honda went 10.42@130mph. The Suzuki went 10.39@128mph. The Yamaha went 10.36@132. And last but not least, the Kawasaki went 10.34@132mph. What is the fastest you've ever seen a stock height 600 go??? i guarantee it isn't three tenths of those #'s!!!
They then decided to take the two fastest bikes and lower them. That was the Yamaha and the Kawasaki. The Suzuki was down on horsepower and had the second to lowest mph with near flawless passes, while the Kawi and the Yamaha were the only two bike that he could not keep on the ground in first gear. These factors are what made the Kawi and the Yamaha the chosen bikes.
With 2" ground clearance, the first pass for the Kawasaki was a 10.16, with a 1.55 60', but the shock was hitting the swingarm so they had to raise it back up. Then, 4 passes later, with a 1.58 60' and a 4.27 330', the Kawi went 10.02@135mph. The first pass for the Yamaha was 10.12. Then 3 passes later, with a 1.55 60' and a 4.23 330', the Yamaha went 9.98@135mph. Them came back and went a 1.54 60' and a 4.17 330', and went 9.93@135.
Now, this is getting Crazy!!!! I honestly can't believe that a stock 600 went 9's. I wish there was still a 600ss class. If these bikes were setup S/S legally, they will go 9.50's easy!!!!
Stay tuned fellas, Rickey G will go to Cali next month to test ALL the new 1000's!!!! THAT should be interesting!!!!
they should of bought a yamaha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCcPrz5Ayuk
