-see that's a problem you are on a brand loyal site and you want to make a point... I noticed that you have a 14 now.... you are a what we call a faker..(not saying you are fake)... it's what ever is the popular you jump ship.... can't be trusted nor depended upon.... back in the 60's you would have been labeled a cummunist....lol

I hear your point, but reality is ... the bike has too much power to ride the way you want the test to be completed.... everyone knows that a bike with less power can run a faster e.t. when compared to a bike with 26 more hp and 10 to 12 more lb ft of tq..... Now for you to say the bike isn't faster is just incorrect

damn.. you are pscyhcologist too... you are wrong about me jumping the ship.. i have said alot of positive things about others performance result like shane or lee or wheelie but when someone comes and shows you bunch of reciepts paper telling you what stock vs stock does i won't agree i don't care how small it is.. as i said i am not loyal to any brand and if there is time of arguement i will be in it.. i speak my mind and and i don't kiss ass.. hey as loyal as you guys are to the brand kawasaki should get you all new zx14r for christmas...

stock motored no power adders...... does that sound better?

AWESOME information and video.

Thanks for posting and (if you ignore 2 or 3 bashers) you will find that many people here appreciate your efforts.

You missed the fact that he's not running the factory air pressure in the tires.

That alone makes the results meaningless in my mind ..................

I know what it took for me to run my 9.11 @ 150.88 at stock wheel base on my 09 zx14 .. It was no easy task ... So to see Ricky run a 8.99 @ 156.44 with nothing but the stock cans removed is very very telling to the power this bike makes . Add to that Ricky out weighs me by 30 to 35 pounds ..

09 zx14 piped tuned , slammed and strapped .

You can see on my 9.11 pass i beat his 60 foot time ... After that its all ZX14R .. 314 back half Vs my 321 back half .. 150.88 MPH Vs his 156.44 MPH

you said, "I am going to go 3 up in the back and one down in the front in my old 07 and if I see u 14 r owners on the road and beat u all... Don't get mad ... It is still stock!! "

I can tell you already what going to happen... get your ass whoop, just like I beat up on the Gen1 with my 2011 zx10 (ecu mod, slip on & pc5-tuning). They jumped out two bikes, starting in a 2nd gear roll on.... by the time they went into thrid gear, I have motered around them like they shut the bike off... that's that real power ... the same goes for the 14r vs the 14

In my mind "stock" means stock motor no power adders. If someone is piped, geared, lowered and strapped. I still consider that stock, and I would assume most drag racers feel the same way.

A drag race between a SHOWROOM stock 2011 and 2012 would be pointless in my opinion, because hardly any drag racers would be doing that anyway. It's been stated a number of times that a 2012 can't use all the power from a standing still drag race. I would like to see a roll on race between the 2011 and 2012 SHOWROOM stock. I think all you 14r bashers would be highly disappointed with the outcome.

Shawnski,

I can understand your point, but while in Vegas they did test the bike against a stock zx14, busa and the 14r (didn't they)

I am sure no one is trying to convience you to purchase the 14r, the point you made about the gearing, is clear however hands down it's the 14r

-is your bike bone stock right now? I really doubt that it is...

Codyc_13
-I really feel ya on that roll-on... It boils down to simply folks with the older bike is like the kid with a new sister or brother... jealous... this story goes on in nearly every car forum, the folks with the old version tries to justify why they are not getting the new car... and tries to quantify keeping their older model.....

As another member stated, this is the new plate form... either get on board or get left behind

your air in florida the day and time you ran those times

Density Altitude: 1466 feet
Relative Density: 95.78 %

rickeys air yesterday

Density Altitude: -1324 feet
Relative Density: 103.93 %

2790 ft differance in zx14r favor .. ain't that 2 tenths and 3 mph by rickeys on words about vegas...

but rickey ran the 2 bikes in semi same set-up and around 4mph in favor of the zx14r on 12/19/2011.. just not 8mph

Thanks Rickey for posting these awesome times.

Seems your gut was spot on with this bike. Kawasaki were playing down the power in the early days as these mph figures tell the whole story.

1badzx12r and Shawnski: enough already. We get the point. We've had dynoes back to back, drag races back to back with old v new and the story is blatantly obvious; irrespective of the fact they were all run on taller gearing to stop the wheelies. Alot of effort has gone in here to give the people here and elsewhere a heads up on the new toy which hopefully will aid in the decision whether or not to buy. At least you can acknowledge that that is a nice thing to do?

1Bad,

you bring a good point, however Lee's bike was tuned to track conditions and the 14r had no tuning at all..... with that said, Rg couldn't take advantage of the good quality air.

I have raced in Fl for over 6.5 yrs... the best I have seen it at Bradenton MS was like -500 or so. Remember we are talking about a stock bike vs a fully prepped bike, with a lighter rider.
Lee is claiming 150, but he is tall and skinny, even his leathers says he is skinny... lol

I have to agree with 1bad on this if Lee would have ran in that air rickey had then it would be a different story. Rickey did say 3000 feet of air cost .20 so take that off lees times. I think some guys are hoping for a 3 to 4 tenth difference and I just don't see it in the end with both bikes modded.

Stock means different things to different people.
In reference to drag racing, stock USUALLY means motor not molested and stock wheelbase.
If you want to be extreme once you change the oil, it's not stock.

I think Ricky stated what he changed and that he considered that a stock bike.
If you don't agree it OK, but he didn't mislead you.

Maybe i shouldn't do this but ........................he took the mirrors off too.

Who gives a rats ass how fast a bike is in the 1/4 as delivered.
If you are going to race a bike you will set it up to race.
95% of racers will lower, pipe, and gear a bike if they are remotely serious about racing.

Well around here I get accused of having a built motor when I run 8.98 to 9.02. LOL. My buddy on his 08 busa gets accused of it as well he runs 8.89, we both run pump gas. Knowing how to ride helps and lee is as good as anyone out there in my book and I will go off his numbers after he has an arm and air shifter on it as he will tell it like it is. Hurry up Lee! And my guess is 8.50's anyone else want a guess?

We were talking about this last Wed night. We also predict 8.50's. The 14R is basicly making the same power his bike did with a 20 shot of NOS.

I remember in 1972 Kaw set the production NHRA record at 12.00.It was on a 72 H-2 stock. But according to NHRA rules stock meant gear changes and jetting changes which is what Big K did.
