Hey rickey, just a quick question, why you guys did not leave alone the sprockets as stock in both bikes?
Simple......nobody races with stock gearing, every other bike in the world requires more gear to get the bike off the line without bogging, but the 14 has always required less gear with stock wheelbase to keep the front down, and now that the new 14R makes 95 ft lbs of tourque at 7 thousand rpms and 114 ft lbs at 7500, it makes it rediculously hard, next to impossible to ride with stock gearing which is a 42,1 tooth more than 2011.[
U guys know how to play to get the result you want... To me that is not stock!!! And u have not convinced me yet...

1bad are you sure you don't work for Suzuki and are paid to bash the anything that is positive that comes out about the new 14r wait til this spring average riders are going to destroying the old 14's (stock motor with bolt ons), busa's second gen and first gen (stock motor with bolt ons). The only reason I say this is because I don't think I have had heard ONE POSITIVE come out of your keyboard yet. So why do you even post just to be a troll or an ass. Shawnski most bikes if you were to go the opposite with gearing would slow down in the 1/4, so go ahead and do that with a gen 1 and I don't think you would like the result. Yea it's not bone stock, but that is a pretty minor thing 2 teeth on the back sprocket, still had secondaries, stock exhaust, SWB and foot shifting. Thanks Rickey for posting your results don't let a few bad apples spoil the bunch.

I am going to go 3 up in the back and one down in the front in my old 07 and if I see u 14 r owners on the road and beat u all... Don't get mad ... It is still stock!!

dang rickey you killing me I have an 09 se. there has been a few sleepless nites over the new 14r. i had just talked myself out of the new bike then i see this test. i ask the new 14r guys on here if there was that big of a diff in the bikes but now i can see for myself. thanks for the test and thanks for posting on here now i guess what color is my next question

you got a 2012 .. show me when you pick up 10 mph over your old gen 1 zx14 .. being yours is modded with sidewinder you should even have more hp than 41hp and being you don't have those heavy stock headpipes http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=27&TID=64917&pagenumber=1

He ran an 8.99 @ 155 with a 2012 ZX-14R with stock wheel base, 40-T sprocket, strapped and lowered and stock pipes removed....that's what he posted on facebook this morning.

-see that's a problem you are on a brand loyal site and you want to make a point... I noticed that you have a 14 now.... you are a what we call a faker..(not saying you are fake)... it's what ever is the popular you jump ship.... can't be trusted nor depended upon.... back in the 60's you would have been labeled a cummunist....lol
I hear your point, but reality is ... the bike has too much power to ride the way you want the test to be completed.... everyone knows that a bike with less power can run a faster e.t. when compared to a bike with 26 more hp and 10 to 12 more lb ft of tq..... Now for you to say the bike isn't faster is just incorrect

damn.. you are pscyhcologist too... you are wrong about me jumping the ship.. i have said alot of positive things about others performance result like shane or lee or wheelie but when someone comes and shows you bunch of reciepts paper telling you what stock vs stock does i won't agree i don't care how small it is.. as i said i am not loyal to any brand and if there is time of arguement i will be in it.. i speak my mind and and i don't kiss ass.. hey as loyal as you guys are to the brand, kawasaki should get you all new zx14r for christmas...
all these money spend and testing.. i have not seen one freaking video of 2012 zx14r vs 2011 zx14 drag race in stock form...
have you wondered why? believe me it will not change my mind about buying a zx14r either way!!
