Oh, I see that you edited your post down from 40 pounds, but look what was captured in my quote before you did that.

and you guys drink to much kool-aid to see the fact

has anybody ever got 8mph more speed from a 30 hp increase from a 40lb heavier bike in the whole of history of motorcycling
GO LOOK UP THE CURB WEIGHTS FROM BOTH YEARS..

smells rotten to me

Uh, OK.

Try not to choke on the FACTS straight from Kawasaki.com:

2012 => Curb Weight 584.3 lbs.
2011 => Curb Weight 566.7 lbs.

BRB - gotta get my calculator ..................

Looks like 17.6 pounds .............. NOT 30, NOT 40, NOT 80 ........... just 17.6.

the 06 are 474lbs dry and the 08 is 485lbs dry .. thats another 11lbs lighter for an 06 vs a 2011.

so now with facts we are now 28LBS FROM AN 2006 TO A 2012..

NOW YOU SHOW ME ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD WERE YOU CAN PICK UP 8 MPH ON 30HP WITH A 18LB GAIN

Suzuki did this same shit with the old gsxr1100 back in the 90's ..everytime it gained hp it gained weight ..

Shanwski,

I think you missed it.... both bikes were stock wheel base and both have rear gearing changed....

The 14R is the real deal... stop hating, if you can't get one or don't won't one... stop trying to bash the bike....... if you are stuck with your Gen 1 so be-it.....

This bike is the largest production sport bike, with the most horse power and tq. Numbers don't lie......read em and weep

here we go again.. not a hater and i will get me one when is time not becuase it has 195 hp or 300.. if i had a zx14r i still will argue about it because i am not narrow minded.. don't call a bike stock if you messing around with sprockets.. you go down two teeth so you can use all the power the zx14r when launching since it is hard to launch..(WHEELIE) so quit being so narrow minded about things..
why don't you get a 2011 stock zx14 stock sprocket and do a drag race vs. zx14r with stock sprocket and let us see the result... video please.. anyone wants to to do it...?????

The hateraid is so strong with these two. On the STREET where 98% of these bikes are going to DO THE WORK the added HP will greatly outway the extra few pounds. And the fact that ALMOST ALL The added weight is in a exhaust that will ne laying on many a shop floor. It seems like every thread has zx12 guy bashing and hating on things that people are proving daily.

He put a lowered stock bike with all stock parts except for rear sprocket- which delays the power and put the bike in the 8's. No one else on the planet on any stock length stock bike has gotten close. He aint as light as Richard or JT- just wait till they try.

I will say I don't gain 8 mph spraying a 30 shot starting in first gear and not adding weight.

stock vs stock that was my only arguement.. not the hp or torque or how much zx14r better than zx14... i guess u are brain washed too with all those dyno results.. as i said before i had them all zx12, busa, zx14 and soon zx14r but i am not loyal to anything or any brand.. i just say it as should be.. that's all.. i am not in any of these manufactures payroll.

Again I provide an independant test at my own expense for public info only and of course, someone has something negative to say....as always!

1badzx12R............you should change your screen name, cause how can you be a ZX owner and talk so bad about ZX's?

The answer to your 30 hp = 8 mph question is............................................it was 30 hp peak and 41hp at red line!! 41....41....41HP difference equals 8 mph............ALL DAY

I can't even think about speaking for RG, but I have been riding Kawis my entire life and something I can say for myself without a dought in my mind, they don't usually get geared for the best 330's. But really a gear change is such a minor change I don't even consider it a mod. I have never owned one bike, dirt or street that had perfect gearing for every purpose.

And just from my own personal insight, the added tq and were it comes in at on the graph, that 18 pounds you keep talking about will not be nearly as big of a deal as on a peakier (spelling) bike.
