quote:Just wanted to give you guys some real information. The intention for the bike we have was to show the bike as a customized bike for the Kawasaki dealer trade show. While the performance of the new ZX14R is VERY important that was never the intention for this particular motorcycle. There is still a huge market for the ZX14R on the custom side for guys who realize for Street riding the bike has more than enough power. Looks and the ability to customize are much more important to our custom bike enthusiasts than pure performance #'s. This is the reason this pre production bike was used as a custom display model.
We use these bikes to create aftermarket products to support the market. As there are/were no production bikes available to use/test with we are working with Brock and Ricky and other vendors to get the knowledge they need to help you/these bikes go faster and to develop new products.
The numbers you see from this bike are not exact representation of what the real numbers will be and are just a taste. Brock, Ricky and myself all are VERY confident that the real production bikes will deliver more than what you are seeing and this information is helping to develop the products for the production bikes coming. We were very excited to see what this bike would do as we know this new 2012 ZX14R is the real deal and is going to shock the world with how incredible it is. There is no scam or secretive ploy behind this! Just a hard working group of guys trying to develop stuff to support the market. We apologize for the mis information that has been spreading and really look forward to the release of this amazing machine!
Also want to point out that while the bike makes huge H.P. and Torque there are many other improvements that are important as well and all add up to the most incredible vehicle available in the world.
Do you know if a swingarm from the "old" 14 is a direct bolt-on for the 14R?
Oh, and THANKS for the info!

Its not like they tested some unusual setup...

Jzx, all day Friday was all I could handle. I'm not one of those guys that likes to change stuff during a race. My bike runs very consistant with pump gas, so I left it at that.

was leonidas bike stock length?......
No, my bike was 65 inches at that time. My bike ran an average of 158-160 on MR9 at most tracks. My best MPH was 163 mph. The new bike should mph in the 160s once its streched and the throttle can be cracked open 100% before the 1/8th mile.

Jesses bike 06 ZX14, piped and tuned before head work ..
Stock engine with the 40 shot nitrous would be way cheaper than blowing your money on a motorcycle that is not performing to its full potential.. Why is Kawasaki hiding the results, in all reality they shouldn't have anything to hide. It looks like a older models ZX14 stock height with the 40 shot would be enough for the average rider on the track.

Have you people lost your collective minds? When Rickey won the AMA Dragbike SuperSport National Championship riding for me in 2009 it took us nearly half a season on a meticulously prepared, hand massaged RACE BIKE with over 200 dyno pulls and close to 100 drag strip passes before we could break into the 8 second zone. This was accomplished using a SuperSport spec race engine and chassis (including a $2K Dragshock) that made 204 RWHP on my dyno…. Now he rolls up on a damn-near stock show bike with billet aluminum hand grips, blinged-out front wheel, a 10 lb. billet/clear clutch cover using a make-shift ZX-10R power commander and pulls it off in a HANDFUL of passes, and you aren’t impressed?! The only thing missing from the Internet these days is a reality check button to slap some folks up the side of their heads… okay, just kidding (sort of.)
My apologies if our testing didn’t go down per the schedules of others… the reality is that ONE ZX-14R is available on the east coast and Bob Fisher from Roaring Toyz was kind enough to allow me and Rickey to borrow it for some testing. We were at a fantastic facility on one of the best prepared tracks anywhere, with a dyno on site (thanks, Hitman) --- it would have taken armed guards to keep me and Rickey away from that bike! We will be covered in snow by the time any bikes arrive to us; this testing was about gaining knowledge, plain and simple. We decided to share the live experience with all, because that’s what people prefer these days, and I hope you enjoyed the experience as much as I did.
BTW, the Roaring Toyz PROTOTYPE machine started its life at 173 RWHP on a model 250i dyno in bone stock form and is making almost 205 RWHP as we have it configured now. Take that for what it’s worth… I personally can’t wait to get my hands on the production version. Our testing isn’t finished; it’s just beginning.

I see you guys calling out Suzuki but what about BMW? Imagine if they lighten the bike a little bit more and found a way to increase the horsepower in 2013.

Stock motorcycle the BMW is quicker than the zx10, the ZX10 second gear is slow getting out of the whole....
The modifications this 2011 ZX10 has is extremely fast and last week just had a 40 shot put on it. Apparently the ZX10 clutches have issues under power and not as strong as the ZX14 clutch. The new clutch will be installed hopefully pretty soon and we can really see what numbers it is putting out at the track.

Ricky and Brock are probably some awesome guys and devoting a lot of time and effort into this motorcycle which I give them a lot of credit. The biggest aggravation is that this seems like a big promotion instead of Kawasaki giving the bikes to them and let them really put out the numbers so the consumers can really understand what they are buying.

I haven' t bought a brand new bike since the ZX12's.
It's kinda like this, I can go fast with a built motor and or some spray on a 6 yr old machine. Or I can buy the new one for 13,500( sale price) and slap my current bolt on's off my old one for free. Just buy a power commander.
Then when it's time to step up with motor mods or head work, then your already that much farther ahead then your old bike and going quicker. I' m pretty sure this ZX14 will be a refined better version of mine just being 6 years newer.
I could sell mine for 5k$ and put it in my pocket and just finance the new bike thru my credit union 200$ pr mo, hell, I paid my 08 Jeep off and that free' d up 420$ per mo.

I basically said this just in a way I thought someguys on here that can't read would understand, my comment maybe kawasaki would do everyone a favor and not ship that junk refined 1441 bike over here cause it's obvious the majority don't want it anyway, all fingers point to poor sales. so I will wait and steal a used one from someone. And Brock thanks for talking to me at the cup.
