How many times do you get a pre production bike to play with anyway? So stop being a spaz already. Does any mfg owe anyone free play time? Used to buy a bike based on advertizing and mag tests and those used to have more substance.

You say not everyone lowers them. BS. Everyone but your ass. I've had enough of your stupid comments.
I'm sure there is AT LEAST 400 bikes here this weekend. You know how many 14's, Busa's, 1000's, hell, there is only ONE bike here that is not lowered, and that's a hondamatic!!!
So if your worried about dragstrip numbers, that's more of a "stock motored bike" setup for the dragstrip with minimal mods.
I feel like I'm talking to this concrete bleacher when I type this to you... Your not understanding what were saying.

sorry.. i thought i was in zx14 forum.. wrong.. this is drag bike forum..
dude.. have you notice only handful of people here are responding to this subject.. reason because it is all about you guys who drag race...
i asked a simple request which was a simple test see what a stock bike does vs stock gen1.
they could have done that if they wanted to..
we know you can go faster and faster with more mods and lowering and extension but that is not the only purpose of having a zx14.. or maybe kawasaki made these bike for just a drag racers..
i lowered my bike not only because i can launch better but i like the way it looks lowered.
i bought brocks exhaust because of quality, fit and finish, looks, sound and performance!

it is ok we are not getting no where with this so as i said i wait till i read some results on STOCK BIKE from other sources.

And you damn sure don' t want to make a buying decision based on what magazine tests show. Hell, they show the CBR1000 beating the new zx10, which in the real world is the fastest liter bike ever built.

Rickey is just riding what's there, and Brock is testing his exhuast, tuning, etc. I'm pretty sure they are learning some valueable info to help us all by the time we get these things in our hands.

I wish the stock SE was there, everyone knows RG would have dropped a tenth or two- maybe more. But not this week.

It's all good though, cuz Smokin is going to show us the stock piped and slammed numbers where Rickey left off. That is if he didn' t go get his deposit back

yeah smoking where are you when we need you!!?
I'm here and still pissed at the way this went down .. It's over now and we can't change what was done .. Do i think that 8.99 is a good number ? YES and NO and here is why , Brocks 08 Busa went faster at the same track back in 08 .. His 06 ZX14 went 9.00s at the same track .. But i will say it seems Ricky is having a hard time riding the bike because of the extra power ..It may be much faster than what we are seeing because of that ..This bike is a preproduction bike and never should have been on the drag strip or the dyno .. The bike maybe alot different than what we will get from the show room .. So in my mind the numbers mean nothing .. I would have been happier if Ricky had ran the vegas bike or one set up just like the vegas bike .. Even if the vegas bike had run 9.20s in Ga that would have told us all what we wanted to know ..

I'm going to get the bike and test it the way it should have been tested , the way we were told it was going to be tested ..Then we will know just how it stacks up mod for mod against the Gen 1 ZX14...

OK, since 1Bad hasn't shown up lately, I'll continue to fill in for him.
The new 14R still fails to impress.

Compare Brock's 08 Busa, stock pipes, slammed, pump gas, clutch mod, no mirrors:

9.322 @ 150.95, with a 1.547 60 ft.
Let's see, 14R with the same mods went what???

With mods like the 8.99 14R, the 08 Busa went::

8.915 @ 156.99 with a 1.489 60 ft.

Should I stick with buying the 14R or just buy a Busa already modded for 1/2 the price?

This thread is all about 1/4 mile numbers.
Forget ugly and that it is a Suzuki and that it has larger throttle bodies, so it's cheating.

The 4 year old Booza is right there with the 14R numbers on the quarter mile. How do you argue with THAT????

How am I doin', 1Bad???

Another possibility may be since the Roaring toys bike dyno' d 204 STD on mr12 with full exhuast and semi-tuned really only made 10 or so more hp then a box stock production bike did on pump gas. You see what I' m getting at? That production SE he had in vegas is making more power- becuase "its" the real deal.

Actually, even if I wanted a Booza, my wife said "no, not gonna happen, no Busa in our garage!"

She is fine with me getting the 14R - in fact, she wrote the check for the deposit!

She's a smart lady and a keeper, for sure!

I don't trust magazines. I don't trust many. But I'm glad Lee isn't getting his deposit back...because I do trust he is in nobody's pocket, and we will get the " meat and potatoes " of what this thing can do when he gets it on the strip.

I don't care to see numbers from a non lowerd bike. that don't tell anyone shit. Kawasaki built a great new 14 and you guys are acting like a bunch of babys. no way in hell this new bike won't be faster mod for mod. anyone that can read can see the specs on the new motor and tell that. looks great too!

I still believe The bike Ian turning out 1/4 numbers everyone wants to see because it's too much power for stock wheelbase. But what do I know, I just watched it run all weekend.
And to correct my previous statement, he was running 100% mr12, not a mix.

-for those that don't know, the RT bike still has the heavy billet front wheel on it.
-for those that think the 14R only picked up 10 hp with the pipe and tuning... you are uninformed... where are the before numbers? We do know that the bike will pull 190 or so SAE, not sure what the difference is between SAE and STD, but as Smokin stated, this is a preproduction bike.

Don't worry, for those that purchase the 14R, you will not be disappointed. Look at the e.t.
8.99 w/1.51 short time.... not for sure on the fuel, but Mr12 nets around 7 hp, so a bike that we all know pulls 190(min) on pump gas, install an exhaust-gd for 8 to 10... that's a 17 hp increase...190 plus 17 equal more than 204 STD... should be around 207 +/-... hell that still good for a stock bike with a pipe/exhaust

To me these numbers leave more questions unanswered than before............the stock ZX 14R made 191 SAE.............the Roaring Toys bike made 204 STD piped tuned and on MR 12...........so if STD is about 4% higher than SAE and MR 12 is worth about 7 horsepower when you convert that 204STD to SAE like the stocker you get 196 SAE then you subtract 7 horsepower for MR 12 you get 189 SAE.............so the Roaring Toys bike LOST 2 horsepower with a pipe and tune WTF??????

There was a 3 hp difference between sae/std on the dyno and my bike made 190. All dynos are different, sure- but 201 minus 190 is 10hp or so more.. That's where I am getting it from.

Look, I know the bike is fast, I just don't think the RT bike is as fast as the SE he rode in Vegas if both bikes have the same mods. Take way the MR12 and the Roaring toyz bike makes 2 hp more then the stocker, thats all I am saying.

The production bike is going to fly.
