Fender question

So, I finally stetched and lowered my bike. I went down 3/4" in the front and little over an inch in the rear. Now, I can't get my front stand in between the fender and nose peice. So, I removed the front fender. Now my question is, will running the bike on the street like this harm it? Also, I have scraped the oil drain bolt a couple times already. nothing bad yet, but how long does it take to get the modified oil pan from OSR? I use the bike as a daily commuter.

It probably won't hurt to run it without a fender, it will just sling a lot more road grime everywhere. At the most I would probably look into a Cox Radiator Guard just to be safe.

It took less than a week for me to get my OSR pan, including sending mine in and them shipping a new one back.

I got an OSR pan before lowering mine because of that drain plug. I also have to remove my front fender for using the front stand. I put it back on when done servicing or storing for long periods. You're running the bike without a front fender on the street? Cops would love to see that here! It won't harm a thing except your wallet for a ticket. It will run MUCH cooler without a fender.

Why would you get a ticket for not having a fender?

No shit who cares if you got a fender or not. Half the chops out there don't have front fenders or brakes.

50/50, but it can be used as an excuse to pull you over. Anytime we want to talk to someone there is always a reason.. The guys who put 10K++ HID's in their bikes, always get a ticket

Zixer- The cars are maintained by the municipality and sent to the motor pool, NYPD actually has 1 detective that is in charge of all the cars at 1Pen Plaza (300+), and has to keep a maintenance schedule on all of them... Oil changes, registrations, insurance, tune ups, accident repair, Incident reports. Talk about a fucking nightmare that never ends.

I would try running a zx10 front fender. Makes the bike run a lot cooler, able to park in a wheel chock, and it'll make you have a fender.

Well actually.... Something like that... Just about all the guys that wind up In IA (internal Affairs) are there not because they did a good job, but rather they got caught up in some shit, did not know how to be diplomatic, or just couldn't cut it out on the street. There are a few exceptions to the rule but a few guys actually sign up because they want to police the police... and traffic agents. BTW, in the good old days it was a different job..... They wanted you to kick ass and take names, now you have to be a fucking diplomat even dealing with scum. CPR...
A friend actually got dragged into IA, now he is the one stuck dealing with the cars.... He is a good guy but needs to learn how to bite his tongue, luckily he is out in under 2 years... at least he is going to get detective 2nd off it (about a 10K a year raise from 1st).
