Exhaust Head Pipe angle is different - Brock - did you notice???

Exhaust pipe on #4 takes a dramatic turn downward, which can't be to improve flow. Can it be that the radiator is thicker and there is not as much room for a large-radius pipe?

Will the "old" Brock pipes really fit, or is that just based on physically fitting into the head?

I'm ready to order an exhaust, but not wanting to find that it needs a quick bend to miss something.

The pic on Brock's site is photoshopped, so that proves nothing. Either that or the wheel is badly bent.

2012 pipe looks like it goes straight down:

Different look from the front. Do the 14R head pipes look HUGE or is that just me?

Maybe Brock.s question something to the tune of "What if the factory exhaust is so good that I can only get another 5 HP - would you buy Brock's?" has merit...................

Pre production bike might be dummied up for pics. Looks like some dents in it as well.

These pics are downloaded straight off the Kawasaki.com web site. I just cropped them to zoom in on the relevant item. Your guess is as good as mine on what they used for a model.............................

Any chance it is an optical illusion due to the different "vents" on the fairing?

hey lucky, if you notice the new 14 has two fans, this could be a problem but the one on the other side doesn't seem to pose a problem for the old models? guests will just have to wait and see.

Guys,

Our Alien Head on the Roaring Toyz ZX-14R at the Dealer Show was not photo-shopped... but you might want to go to our site and check our stainless offerings. As we learn, we must adjust accordingly. Yes, the current systems will fit, physically, but we are already adjusting some areas to compensate for changes that Kawasaki made from a performance standpoint. I won't be elaborating in any further detail as this is a competitive industry. I'm sure you understand.

Looks like the #4 pipe takes a radical turn downward to miss FAN #2 ???
Could be the angle of the pic - IDK ...................

I'm wondering how close the ct will be to the radiator, if I have to hammer on it to make it fit I will not be happy. And I don't want to shim the radiator out for clearance.

The redesigned stainless system is already installed, dyno tested and working great!
... no hammer required

The CT and stainless systems are nearly identical in construction, I believe its an illusion... but we are not to that system yet. We are attacking problems as fast as we can based on sales volume and info. from trusted sources.

Like I said... working great.

I can't give you 'real' numbers because we are not using my dyno AND we are using a pre-production machine.

I have been in this game long enough to know that none of us will really know what's going on until the crates start getting distributed off of the boats and start making their way to dealers.

I can say that I see nothing to dispute any of the information presented from KMC at this point. Disclaimer: using comparative data to previous models with similar configurations (gathered by sources other than myself) as a reference, assuming this pre-production unit is truly a representative sample.

Video: 2012 ZX-14R Alien Head 2 Exhaust Track Testing – with Power Commander Mapping

Special thanks to Bob, Kory, Brad and the rest of my friends at Roaring Toyz and ‘Turbo’ Johnny Dobrin for offering is riding skills.

A PCV was fitted to the injectors ONLY (the main harness plug of the new 14 is similar to a Triumph and will not work as Smokin passed on in a previous thread) so a map could be created to match the exhaust.

All commented on the sound of the new AH2… the additional pipe volume for our dual filament exhaust packing produces a smoother tone and the full through diameter lets the new beast breath. Redesigned headpipes not only match the revised exhaust ports, they install easier.

Allowances were made to push the radiator away from the pipe to allow for #4 pipe clearance and additional fan near cylinders 1 and 2.

The new production version will be available in 10 days to 2 weeks. We are going to do what we always do with all new bikes, a short production run. If you want to be one of the first to have one, Call to place your name on the list; they won’t be on our site for a little while longer 937-912-0054.

(ps…. faster than it did with the original Alien Head… and that’s all that really matters to me )

I'm still not sure what this means. Is it?

a) The radiator has to be shimmed away from the pipe? If so, how much?

b) The pipe is designed to be a bolt-on and misses the radiator and fans?

You have to shim the lower Rad bracket out a 1/4 of an inch and it will clear .. Other than that it bolts right up ..
