Where you guys getting "ABS model" from? It doesn't have ABS, just traction control. ABS WILL be available in other countries I hear, oddly.

Should be. They are "world spec" cans, so they are designed to meat the strictest emissions and sound requirements.

The pictures show an ABS ring on the front wheel.
Unless the traction control works on the front wheel too.

front/rear wheel speed deferential is kinda important to deciding when traction control needs to kick in.

It needs something to compare to. If the back is spinning the same as the front, no traction control needed. If the back is spinning faster, traction control needed.

Stock exhaust is much heavier than a turbo.

Kawasaki didn't lie, you guys did just like you do every year. Before the new model year comes out you start making up stories and believing in your own fantasies as to what you want the bike to be. Then when it comes out not to be what you wanted, you get upset. Next year just wait until the dam bike is unveiled and then see how you like it.

Bike has now appeared on Kawasaki UK website.
Kerbside weight is up 7kg from 2011 (around 15 1/2 lb)
I can see a large chunk of this being in those HUGE new silencers.

no its not much heavier..

1 stock can weighs 13lbs

my turbo weigh is 16lbs header and exhaust, heavy wall stainless tube
now count external fuel pump, wideband, pc3, shiftbox, air compressor, heavier battery with 300cca 12lbs ,

i am sure its a even trade off for a stock exhaust .. and if i remember right my bone stock bike tip the scales at 535lbs..

I'm sure this bike isn't 60 extra pounds. If you compare what they recorded as a stock zx14 weight for a gen 1 and gen 2 then the gain is only 16 lbs. But who knows until someone actually gets one.

This bike is around 30 lbs heavier, at most, than the 06-07. No stock 14 ever weighed in below 550 lbs, that is for sure.

The rf's were sold from 94-99 400, 600, and 900. The 900 was the Busa of it's day, it was replaced by the Busa and shared motor design. I've been saying it for years, as much as I don't like it the zx14 looks styled after it, all 3 generations lol. The wide tailsection, the fins on the side, big cc' sport touring..

The front ring is for traction control. On models that have abs the same sensor ring will serve the abs

Part of it is kawi's fault, they hype the bikes up way more than they can usually live up to. But they also know that once you hype folks up over the latest and greatest, even if its not all that when it comes out, enough people will still be hyped up and buy one. They make money regardless of whether it lives up to the hype or not. Its business and it works lol.

Ever hear of the boy who cried wolf............that less than honest hype only works for so long..........till it turns people off and people stop beliving it and stop buying the bikes..........we saw that right here with the 08 hype that want really a step forward at all.

Now on the other hand delivering the goods with a big leap forward like the Busa did sells LOTS of bikes and creates a huge loyal following...........Kawasaki was almost always the clear horsepower leader till the Busa came out in 1999.........lets hope they are reclaiming their undisputed horsepower dominance!!!
