Timing
Does anyone run more timing with a 4-2-1 pipe?I have a standard Brock Race map on a street bike with a Muzzy timing wheel set at +4 advanced.Should I be running like 93 pump gas?Or would I be beter off with a timing module to go with my Dynojet PCV?I don't want to burn pistons or loose power.

Hey Craig. I have +4 on the Muzzy wheel with a Brock's full exhaust with 20 inch alien can. I run 93 and have had no issues. Oh yeah it runs likea champ! I run the power commander 3 with Brock's street. As far as the timing module I dunno.

Thanks bad ass.Think I'll keep the wheel and keep on adding BP 93.Same stuff I run in my Mustang GT with a race program.Think I'll change from the track map to the street map.I used to run the same gas back when it was Amaco 93.

Adding more timing and then running 93 octane is like a wash isn't it? Higher octane slows the combustion down while more timing makes the peak pressure come sooner.

I'm thinking about setting my ignition to 0 and fill it with BP 89.

Don't race myself but most seem to say for most HP 87 I run 89 on street but I have stock gearing never have noticed any pIng. I do think that it runs smoother on 92.

Craig I was told by Schnitz to use 93 on the +4 with my setup. To use 87 on the street with the timing advanced wouldn't be good for the street especially if ur givin some good blasts on the interstate, like me, hehe. For the strip, I wouldn't use 87 with advanced timing. It can potentially get expensive. Like kaboom n stuff. I must say it is more responsive especially in the low to mid range with +4. I like!

I took my Muzzy wheel off and put the stock one back on.Put the Brocks race map,no flies, baffle in map.I filled it full of 89 BP and took it out.Between 2000-3000 it might of lost a little but over 3 grand the midrange was good. And when it was over 4000 it just took off.On the interstate between 55 to 90 MPH it pulled like never before.Feels like a different bike.

I noticed when my 06 was stock secondary plates installed that it had more off line performance. The ultimate setup of course would be tunable ecu so the secondaries could be tuned for a no bog assist. I believe this would help drag racers also. As a bit oc an experiment the other day I opened the throttle in maybe 3rd lower rpm and was able to bog it a bit. With proper secondary operation this should not happen. This or a knock sensor for the timing might also help.
