ya I really wish I was there when it let go because then i wouldnt have to take someone elses word for what happened. said "cruising at very low rpms for less then 100 yards it happened" when I drove the bike around for 4 straight days and not a thing happened to me. yet takes 30 seconds to blow up in someone elses hands.

sorry to see that , but 300 hp requires good raceing gas and some timing removed. Looks like it detonated and knocked out number 2 or 3 rod bearing pushing the balancer out the front of the block.

interesting. the motor ran. didnt knock or make any noise after it. It didnt run long. havent had a chance to break the motor apart, maybe over the weekend. now the plan is going back to stock with minor bolt ons.

Want to sell that turbo system LOL We have had one in here that did the same exact thing. Ill bet it was seeing 10 lbs of boost at 9500-9800 rpm's and you didn't know it..Sorry man !!

lol I am debating about selling off the turbo kit but my biggest issue is my fairings are cut to make the intercooler fit and if I removed it, I would have a hole in my fairings lol and they are no cheap to replace at all. I just ordered a new motor this morning. hopefully it gets here by friday. if it does. I am gonna haul ass to get it back together by the weekend.
maybe down the road I will turbo it again over the winter. i really just want ot enjoy the thing. ive put a lot of money into it and I atleast want my fun for a season.

I've seen it a million times, you or your wife/buddy etc drive something around fine no probs, the minute somebody borrows it something breaks. Nobody drives me or my wifes stuff but us. And without your boost your Rex isn't going to be much fun anymore. I'd run the boost, just run low boost, no more than 6lbs, and make sure the system is working good. Plus take out a couple degree's of timing. 300hp on a stock motor is walking the edge, you gotta do everything right ALL the time or you will have trouble. Good gas, no equipment probs,keep her good and cool etc. And nobody takes a turbo Rex out at low rpm for 100 yards and it blows..I call bs. They ran it too hard for too long and it went boom.
Nice machine btw.

thanks MJ. I truly think he was beating on it. i was gone for less then 5 minutes. it drove around for 3 days perfectly fine. even got into boost (about 4-5lbs) it just rips the tire off with ease.
what really boogles my mind is that my old one was taken by a person without my permission and this is what happened to it..

I just cant fathem why the hell he touched it. and he knew what happened ot my old one... thats what pisses me off.. I honestly dont care it blew it.. its a built, turbo, race bike... shit happens in racing and high performance things. if your gonna get pissy when something blows up, dont race!
my 06 trex a year ago and it was fairly stock with the zzr12 motor in it. I just had simple mods, exhaust, jetted, and a sprocket change and it wasnt FAST, it was def quick though. but its a trex, its not meant for 200mph. its meant for whiping around town sideways and my old one did that like a champ.
I think that with the new zx14 motor that makes about 40hp more then a stock zzx12, with the right sprocket setup, I will have a blast. yes boost is sweet.. and I think over the winter, I may turbo it over again and run low boost (around 5 psi max). If my internals are still good (I have a fully built forged motor) I am hoping to be able to use them. I will build the motor myself this time. last time (before I owned it) a hundred different shops touched this thing and god knows who did what, ect.

Who is terry? I do not think so. i have heard of terry before. he is in texas right? he just did a buddy of mine turbo trex off the same basic turbo kit but a stage 1. it was just finished a few weeks ago and turned out really good.
mine.. everyone and there brother have touched so who knows.
