Rim Direction ?
Does it make a difference which way the stock front rim is facing. I know the tire is directional but what about the stock rim.

Thanx .. do you have any idea where the arrow is? . . I have OEM rims that are chromed and I can't find an arrow. Or do the V's open to the clutch side or the brake side?

Hype, the arrow is on one of the legs on the rim. I'm not at home right now so I can't refer to my bike at the moment.

good question. Front rim, left hand side. Arrow points in direction of rotation of wheel while rolling forward.
Tires usually have a similar mark to show which way they are designed to be installed.

Does it really matter? Must we always follow directions? Are we not allowed to try it backwards? Can we break out of the mold & ride free? My bearinngs roll in both directions so why must I follow the arrow?

^^^no offense, bro. If the tire was installed correctly on the rim, it is now running backward which will compromise shedding water and dust if you run on the street in those conditions. I'm sure you will be fine though. If anything is going to blow due to backward installation, we probabaly heard about it.
I tend to follow the rules when it comes to wrenching--either the service manual or info I read online.

Nah Rook. . I had a new tire installed on front rim. . Tire is going in the correct direction but I realized the front rim is backward. . I will swap it around this weekend because I too tend to follow the rules when it comes to wrenching--either the service manual or info I read online. Thanx again

Was thinking that wheel bearing wear might be of some significance. I know brake pads would def need to bed in a second time if placed on the opposite rotor but we have such awesome brakes, that prob don't matter. Maybe the arrow is there just so the wheels are the same pattern on front and back--the Vs opening to the same side as you mentioned in the above post. (I assume the Vs DO open to the same side LOL never noticed!).

Yes the V's will be open to the same side when the front and back rims are mounted with the arrows rotating in the proper direction.
