PCV MAP HELP

Hey guys,

I have a 2010 zx14 with a full Yoshi TRC system (stainless/carbon can), PCV, flies out, and -1 on front. I loaded a map from the dynojet website for a 07-08 with the same mods as mine but then read somewhere that it could damage my injectors being a 2010 model + other things. So now i have loaded a map for a 2010 with a full yoshi r-77 system. Its the closest thing i could find to suit my bike. It's running rich and pops and shoots flames (its cool but over the top). Dynojet dont have a map for my year model and my mods.

Is there any map i can use that would be better than what i have now? should i just use the standard base map? please any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have just bought my first house and the $$ are going to be tight for a couple months before i can go in for a custom map on the dyno.

Cheers
Martin

Plug the Kleen air valve and any map will work don't worry about damage

There's no way your fuel injectors can get damaged by having the wrong map? Doesn't yosh have a map for that bike header combo?
From my exper. Yosh copied muzzy so use a muzzy m14 map with your mods and see what happens.
If all lets failed get a PC autotune but that's $$$$

When i contacted Yoshi R&D they told me Dynojet supply the map and they have nothing to give me.

How is the Yoshi & M14 the same?

How exactly do i plug my Kleen air valve? Does it run from the airbox to the exhaust?

Cheers

You can buy a muzzy block off plates that go onto the top of the cylinder head rocker cover.
The yosh header pipe and mid pipe are very similar to the muzzy. So chances are it will work fine.
U got nothing to lose trying a M14 map with your mods.. So go to the dyno jet map site and download a map, just look for a modification combo that's similar to your mods substituting the R77 for a M14 or hindle pipe. Just make a point to check if the substituted pipe is a 4 into 1 , some pipes are 4 into 2 into 1, you dont want that.

i just started the bike with the r77 map loaded (in the dark) and the header pipe was glowing bright red in a minute and a half, the bike had only reached 1 bar on the temp guage.... that to me is not good news and it must be running really lean for the header to be glowing red whilst warming up.... so the "any map will work don't worry about the damage" theory has lost a bit of credibility for me and so has running any of dynojets maps....

any suggestions anyone?

Sorry to hear that about your exhaust header pipe glowing lol. That's not good. If that's the case get a custom map. I don't know who told u to use any map. Use a map that complies to your modifications glowing header pipe. Doesnt really make sense since if you start your bike cold, your chock circuit should be on and your air fuel ratio should be on the rich side.

To answer your question how is Yosh R-77 and M14 the same?

Both are 4/2/1 both have "Stepped" head pipes going to the Y collector. Both have pipe lenghts about the same length/diameter give or take a inch or so.
I have used a Brocks Street Map on my Muzzy M14 and it worked Great.(roll on's in 2nd gear at 60) Same as Muzzy's M14 map when looking at them on the PC. I use a Ivans Data Logged map for the mountains (a bit richer and smoother ) but a bike or so slower on roll on's with my friends 14's.

Hope This Helped

Louis

I have had a play around with a few maps tonight....

All make the header glow red while on idle and stationary. To be specific it glows red up the top where the header meets the head. This must have been the case from the beginning but i just hadn't noticed it. As soon as i get the bike moving 100m or so the header cools down enough to not glow but will glow red as soon as you leave it idle again for 20 or so seconds .

Does anyone else have a glowing header if left to idle for too long? What is too long? According to my uncle (2008 zx10 170rwhp) if he leaves his bike idle for more than 20-30 seconds after the choke cycle he might as well pull out the marshmallows.

I have loaded a custom tuned map on there now. It is for an 09 with a full TiForce, flies removed, 17/43 gearing and PAIR blocked. The generous guy who has given me a copy of his map says he is using this map on his new zx14 that has a Brock's CT and everything else standard and it runs great with the same map. From the very small time i spent on the bike tonight with this map i have found that it's actually quite smooth on the power delivery and isn't far from 100% of what i would expect from my zx14 with my current mods and a custom map. Only thing that threw me off a little was the choke cycle seemed to have lasted a little longer than other maps and idled a lot higher (2000rpm) before falling down to about 1300.

Ps. I tried doing some research on the lean/rich argument in regards to headers glowing red and have come up 50/50 on the results so anymore input there would be great.

Pps. FCUK i can't wait till i have some extra $$ to just go to my usual tuner and get my own map done, i won't be able to sleep at night till then!!
