Spinning? since new arm installed

Last year i was running +6in extenstions traction was never an issue. I have always run a Shinko Stealth. Ever since i got the bike to the track this year after installing a +10 arm, im smoking the tire...not inital hit of the clutch off the line. I notice i go half way with the clutch first then the rest of the way out. when i let the clutch out the second half thats when its lighting the tire up. The rear shock is tightened all the way and the tire comes very close to hitting the lisence plate on the back of the tiger undertail. The past 3 yrs I have run 17 psi no problems, I raised it up to 25psi and down as low as 10 psi and same results. only other change over the winter is i went +1 more in the rear. This has happend at 2 different tracks now so i dont think its track prep but always that possiblity. Dont know what to do at this point could use some feeback thanks.

Pazx, the longer your swingarm is, the less weight you have on your rear tire. Less weight on the tire the more traction problems you are going to have. Tighten your rebound up, it sounds like when the shock is rebounding it's pulling the weight off the rear tire.
If you don't have a revalved shock now might be the time.

And get a tire that will hook. Either the Michelin power one or the hook up.
I run the power race soft 180/55 and I have zero problems with traction at 15 psi

Looks like suspension is your culprit, sounds like the suspension is unloading after the initial hit and it is spinning. Needs more rebound dampening. With that big of a stretch a revalved shock would help, but a spring would probably be needed too.

I figured i wasnt getting the weight transfer i was at a 6in stretch. Ive seen some post of guys running busa springs is that because they are a stronger spring? I was looking at the Hook up but dont know anyone around who has really run one...one guy started running it last week so its uncharted territory for him.

The spring isn't the determine factor as much as the valving in the shock. By what I have learned from the suspension guys, the shock "holds the bike up". The valving is what controls how fast it squats and comes back up. At 8", a spring didn't do much for me, I went with re valving and it works better for me.

set it too full hard and see what it does. You want it to return slowly, not boing back up after squating.

Both shock adjustors turned all the way in then back them out an 1/8 turn.. Your set up should work fine for your weight ..

if the rear tire is a stealth and not a 003 u-soft I don't think a revalved shock will make any difference with a harder tire.

I do ride the street, was told by the dealer (who races a busa with me) dont run a hook up if your running the street he just said the sidewalls are very soft might give problems.
