Newbie ZX14 tire question
Just picked up a 2006 ZX14, fired up!! Coming of a 2002 CBR1100XX which I loved as well.
On my CBR I had run a Micheling Pilot Power 2ct on the front and Pilot Road 2 on the rear and it worked well. Anybody running this combo on the 14? I am a little worried that the extra 50ish hp might make the rear a bit loose? Thanks!

you'll be fine...although your riding style/habits will vary. I am running Pilot Rd 2 front and rear with zero issues and stick well enough to touch down hard parts.

You will be Ok for street riding... done this thinking Road rear with a little harder compound would last longer. I also went to a 190/55/17 rear the 55 series on the rear (only) really made a difference in the turns. Just turning around in front of the house slow I could tell a difference. If you want to play from a red light stay with the 50 series on rear. I liked the Pilot Power 2CT on front and rear as rear lasted me 4000 street miles. Enjoy the 14 you will love it.

I had Pilot Power 2CT's on both, my front & rear, and I got about 11,000 miles on them.
Great tires! My bike only gets wet when I wash it, so I can't tell you how they handle in the rain, but they sure do grip well on dry roads.
Excellent choice of tires.
I currently have Pilot Road 2CTs on my bike now.
I'm expecting to get about 15k miles on them.

I have the Power 2CT 190/50/17 on the rear with 2200 miles or so.The center is still there but I say it's got less then 1000 miles left.I'm terrible on rear tires but whatever the next tire it will be a 190/55/17.It is so hard on tires with the 16/43 gears and the Alienhead pipe.I only put less then 3000 miles a year so let her rip I say.If your not turning 9000-10000 RPMS your not riding.

I run Pilot Power 2 CTs front and back in the stock sizes, great tires! Had the Pilot Powers on before and they were great too. The 2CTs are available at a good price these days. I am sure the pures run well being lighter but for me the 2 CTs work well. They last ok as long as you stay away from burnouts (hard to do).
