Chasis Lubrication

Was going over the service manual and I saw a chasis lubrication section. Was curious what people are using to lubricate the break/clutch lever hinges(pivots whatever).

I bought some grease from autozone and conservatively applied to both. Then (of course after the fact heh) I checked online and I saw someone mention that K was saying to use engine oil (http://www.ehow.com/how_7980630_identify-2008-kawasaki-ninja-zx14.html)

Any opinions/preferences on what to use for this purpose? As far as I remember seeing on my 650R i used to own and the zx-14 the sidestand had some sort of grease on it rather than engine oil.

I wish the sun would come out so lubing the kickstand pivot just wouldnt be thought of. You might consider doing a google search and pick another site. These folks breathe tire smoke and have air shifters ...and achieve sarcasm rather quickly

Yea I thought it's prolly the wrong topic to discuss 'round here lol It's alright though can't help it being a newbie and all. I figured I'll get a kick out of the replies if nothing else :-)

Didn't have to lube it I guess... I bought some good water resistant synthetic grease for my vulcan's (had to get one cuz the lady won't ride with me on the 14 ;-) rocker arm bearing and i figured i get the chasis on both lubed up and I got curious after the fact that's all.

Never the wrong topic. Folks around here are always willing to help, it doesn't matter if you dragrace or not, we're still motorcyclist, even if more than a few of us are smartasses to boot.
