Alabama ATV riding today
Perfect weather. Hit some of the old 1800's coal train trails.
The entrance, an old 1800's coal trian tunnel, it's about a 1/4 mile long.

inside the tunnel looking out.

The old faithful Honda 4x4 sitting on the creek bed. the trails lead up to a really nice waterfall that you can ride up. The water was to cold to make it. you have to get wet. A great day for riding though.

Nice historical adventure there, how far back into the tunnel did u get? We've got and old cave that the indians had used to hide out in while trying to ambush the local Fort Rowdy before it was the town of Covington Ohio......pretty cool, as a teen we used to walk the Stillwater river back to it and search around for "relics"

We go all the way through. There are a total of 3 tunnels through the hills. They come out at the river. these tunnels used by coal miners to move the coal from the mines to the river. The carts were pulled by mules through these tunnels. in some of the tunnels you can still see the old crossties in the ground. from the river to the waterfall is about 28 miles upstream. It is an all day ride with many challenging creek crosses through rapids and rock crawling. Very fun.
