Help with my lowered/stretched 07
I recently added a set of Roaring Toyz extensions set right now to a 4.5" stretch. I had previously installed a set of lowering links and dropped the forks for a 1" drop up front and a 1.5" drop in the rear. Now I am set at the max lowering setting on the links so either 2" or 2.5" I guess. The bike sits level and drops a bit when I'm sitting on it. Now to keep the back tire from hitting the undertail I stiffened up the settings on the rear shock a few clicks.
My issue now is that it is very rough over bumps and such in the rear, is there any way to smooth this out without allowing the back tire to hit the undertail? I ride 2 up often and I'm afraid now I won't be able to because of how far the back is dropped.
Should I put a few turns on the coilover itself?
I plan on adding a strap to the front as well to allow a little more of a drop when I am cruising around and such.
Thanks in advance.

If you put a Tiger Undertail on it, you will gain 1" of clearance...

You could add a little preload to the spring, and reduce the damping for street use. That might help. You can quickly increase the damping at the track, without issue.

Interesting thread.
How much was that undertail?
Do you plan on getting a modified oil pan as well?
My bike is a street bike only, no track racing at all period. I was a low cruiser to keep me out of trouble, lol. No more 1 ups or 120 mph off ramps for me.
I head somewhere that running a hayabusa coil on the 14 damper was also a helper for stretched bikes, any truth to this? Now that I think of it, I might just try and relocate all the electronics from the tail section and hand form a mild steel undertail so the tire has room to travel, that way I can have a smoother ride while still maintaining by low stance.

My bike has a flat billet pan, for a sidewinder. It is no longer a street bike. I had a stock pan, with a ground down guard, and low-profile drain bolt.

I forget how much the Tiger Tail was, but I think that Schnitz sells them.
Some people have run the Busa spring. I have never tried it.

I was reading through more of your thread, probably should have started there first to see how much you've done to your bike. Very sweet build indeed. I'm starting from page 71 and going back, you are running all N/A correct or are you on NO2?
Where did you get that smaller drain plug?
Is the 08 fuel pump a simple plug and play swap?

No nitrous, although I do have the parts to install a system. I ran the bike with the stock motor for about 2 years, and I did ride it on the street some.
I got my drain bolt from Maryland Metrics. It is a DIN 908 type of bolt.

Man I didn't even realize that the fuel pump stuck down that far. I'm at work now and I rode the bike in, I hope I'm not hitting it. I just picked one up off ebay from a 2010, surely there is no difference in the pumps aside from the depth.

I had no issues with swapping the 08 pump, mapping, at least at WOT was the same.

Shane,
I hate to keep bothering you but I looked up that Maryland Metrics site and came across the PDF with about a million bolts on it. Can you narrow it down to a part number so I can order one, I'd appreciate it.

Another option for you would be to get a cut stock pan from osrbikes.com. You send him your stock pan and he sends you one with the drain bolt moved to the back and more ground clearance for $125.

It's 12mm x 1.5 DIN 908, Galvanized. I don't have a part #.

A very smart move would be to get the pan from OSR.
A lot of us waited and we didn't think we had to have one, but one by one we busted ours. Then we said "I should have bought one earlier"

All opinion here but I would think your extensions are extra leverage against a stock spring that is barely adequate for 1 person let alone 2. Skip the short oil plug. Raise your bike back up asap. Get an OSR pan then lower it

Got my 2010 pump in, right now it doesn't seem that there is any difference in fueling. I did see a small drop in average MPG but I also put my 43 sprocket back on. I also made a bracket that straddles the rear subframe and attaches to the stock tool tray studs and pulls the stock undertail up about an inch. Got my plate bracket from piteck and a single stud tag light mounted up. Also goning to order a hand full of those oil pan bolts. I'm not ready to drop $130 bucks on a modified oil pan yet as I use my bike as my DD and can't support a one week turnaround to pull my pan and have the bike sit. I pulled my stock shock and screwed a few turns down on the coilover, firmed up the back and raised it about 1/4 inch.
Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the bike and trying to get used to the change in geometry and how much I can't lean over anymore.
