coughing sound coing from engine???
when I am riding in like 2 or 3 gear at a id rpm the engine will ake this coughing sound every 15 or so seconds and you can feel the power hickup for a slight second. I have not been able to locate the source of the noise yet but am trying. I just bought the bike recently so do not know to much of what has been done to it. When I bought the bike it had no exhaust on it. supposedly his wife crushed it or something somehow. I was just wondering if he heard the sound as well before and took the exhaust off so that when I came to take a look at it - the noise would not be as noticeable which it was'nt and I fell for it. Please help if you have had this issue before or have knowledge on it.

ut - oh
i ain't never heard a zx14 cough .. i heard backfires thru the intake before .. when an intake shim got kick out ..
and when they are to rich on fuel they gurgles

well coughing sound is the best way that I could explain it lol. ill try to do some more investigating a post up about it later.
