another turbo bike

for those of you that dont remember I was involved in an accident last sept. that totaled my bike.(09 turbo SE). Anyway I got my new one together and we tuned it last week end. It made a little over 260 hp on pump gas with an eight pound spring,(creeping a little). And 300 hp on c16 with around 12 pounds of boost.. Its a blast to ride, very responsive, I will try to load a couple of pics.

As you know I'm finishing my turbo bike up too, and I have a couple more questions.

What's your final compression?

And

Which turbo did you use? Still the 18g?

Its listed as an 18g . The one I am doing for a buddy of mine will be the fourth one with no problems (yet). the oil mods are just the oil pump cover and high pressure valve. we also modified the pan. The pistons are 9.5 comp. The head gasket is cometic. My dyno guy was making me a pump gas street map and a race gas track map.He tunes all over the place so he doesnt print out anything he just emails your run or map. I will give him a call and get him to send one of my runs.

That would good info. Thanks.

I'm looking into doing the same setup with an ebay special but not sure which turbo, the 16g or 18g.

Gilberjj, I'm patiently waiting to see your final setup.

either one would work but the smaller one will generate more heat faster if you abuse it any. And thats the whole reason for going turbo, right? Also dont skimp on the wastegate. That is one piece that needs to always work right..my bike rides like a well tuned NA bike. when you roll the throttle on its there. I may have to bump up the boost alittle. My little brother made 408hp on his turbo busa.

he is right, The fuel system is one important part of it. Iam not saying that the way I did mine is the best way but it is what has worked for me. I did away with the fuel pump ass. made a plate with a #6 outlet to the pump and a #4 for the return. a billet fuel rail, fmu, .. A friend of mine did the pan. He said he would do more at 250.00 a piece

And remember . . . . . if your not running good fuel all the time - you "must" pull timing out
of the motor, or run low boost.

One key to my bikes survival was pulling the timing back under boost. My old bike is
alive and well today after 4 years - 2 owners - and a shit load of street miles . . . . and
a couple passes down the flying mile !
