Sintered iron clutchs
Is there a vendor that makes them? Pete makes one run one clutch on his turbo alc. I can only get 5 runs without attention.

Are you slidding it that hard out the hole or blowing threw the clutch on the big end?
If you are not in a class that forbids a lock-up that would be the best money spent.
Trust me I bought enough zx12 clutches that i could have had any clutch SYSTEM i wanted.
Lock-up will pay for it self!

Full street and weighs 543 lbs with two gallons of gas. The clutch is still good but the steels show signs of burning. It has the orginal clutch basket with over 37k miles. That may be some of the problem. there are dibits in the basket and try to keep them smooth. It's running 150 mph average on the big end and the rider weighs 200 lbs. Caterpillar uses sintered iron clutchs as well as some forklifts. They can take a licking for a very long time where fiber would wear out very quick.

Just get a lockup. There is one on psychobike for $250 shipped right now (which is overpriced for a used CL lockup). I'd offer $200 and worry about getting your times down, not about your clutch.

I work for a full service machine shop.Just asked for a simple solution, that would make slipping a clutch that would not present wear. I know very well that a lock-up is the answere. A lock up will engage wherever you put it at different rpms. The track however presents many different conditions. Need a clutch that you can slip at will at any rpm whithout signifiant mods.

Run 5 heavy springs and a cycle logic lock up with the short arms.

Thanks, appreicate your input. Have the heavy springs. This is a daily ride not a race bike per say.

anytime you pull the lever in just a bit it will slip even with a lock-up and heavy spring ..but i learnt anytime your slipping your not advancing forward fast .. ..

Not looking for the fastest time in the 1/4. It's a simple everyday ride that is not effected by high altitude or maintenance problems. Even though the dyno numbers aren't good once you hit 7K rpms it's like your hit from behind from a rocket. 100hp at 6k, 200 at 8k. It will not beat Smoking 14 on any average, all motor and no NOS. Average is 9.50 @ 150 mph. on pump gas now. Got rid of the race gas because of damage to the fuel pump.

Ya how heavy of a rider? I rode a 240 hp busa to 161 last year weighing 215 unsuited and it don't blow thru the clutches, actually that bike has a clutch in that has 300 + passes.
