Call out in Alberta, Canada: 600cc bike versus 600hp Mustang. Takers?
Hey guys, how's it going? Long time since I posted up in this section, I know. But this is the only place I know where Canadian's hang out!
Which brings me to the thread title: guy with 600rwhp Cobra brags on killing bikes, a friend of mine goes and finds a identical Cobra and beats that guy but he doesn't believe it. So I am offering $150 to the winner of a race to 140mph, starting at either a dig or up to 60mph roll-- to be decided by the guys racing.
This should have ended it (identical built/power Cobra against a bone stock GSXR600) but this guy claims the cobra drivers sucked and it's why they lost)

This is the forum where I finally had enough and put money out:
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/pics-videos-buffet-149/726633-race-results-cobras-vs-600-daytime-video.html
This is my GM forum thread that was the final nail in the coffin:
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/street-racing-kill-stories/1394041-z28-r1.html
I'm needing a 600 rider who is light and experienced: mods are ok on the bike, so I figured one of you had to know a drag racer up there who has/runs a 600. ?? Here is the specifics:
CAR:
2003 SVT WHIPPLE COBRA his car runs 1/4 Mile: 11.22@ 127.00
2.3L Whipple 17 lbs all the boltons / IRS / 6Speed
666 RWHP 691 RWTQ on the baby shot (no nitrous to be used for this race, unless the bike gets it, too. Race gas or not is up to racers)
PLACE:
Edmonton Alberta or Grande Prairie Alberta -Can meet in Either city. Reddeer or Calgary might be doable as well though its a bit of a trek

based on the numbers that each of those will run at the drag strip, I'd say the cobra should win. If you take the average 600 rider out on the street and put them up against a 600hp cobra it's not even going to be a race. The cobra will walk it all day long. Hell, most 600's that come out to the drag strip struggle to even get into the 7's in the 1/8th. An 03/04 cobra with nothing but pipes, tune, cold air, and a 2.8 pulley will run in the mid-low 7's all day long (or until it breaks a half shaft lol). The only saving grace that a 600 would have is that the SVT is going to be very very traction limited.
____________
60ft-------1.42
1/8th------5.97
mph-------119

A good rier on a stock 600 would be a good run. A modded 600 with a rider with good roll racing experience should walk him.

I've been 10.02 back in 02' on a 600. I would have walked his ass but in most cases I give it to the Mustang. Not being cocky or trying to be arrogant either but I will be bringing my bone stock 600 to the track soon and think it will run 10.50's...Maybe???

10.5 would be hard to do stock gearing/height/length. Possible if you are both a good drag racer and persistent... and willing to roast a clutch. lol
You wouldn't happen to be up in Canada, would ya? lol
Speaking of which: anybody know what web sites the Canadian drag racers use? I'm in a hurry to give this money away apparently.

PM SENT!
Feel free to argue the starting and stopping point-- this all started with him racing a 600cc from something like 40 or 50mph to 130mph, if your bike struggles alot past 130mph then we should be able to work it out.
Posting it on the SVT forums.

Sceptre, what's up? No replies to my PMs and nothing posted up on the SVT forums. Change your mind on doing it? It's understandable, just let us know!

Hello Biker guys.
SNS is posting for me i guess. The car listed is not the car racing however its similar power wise on boost only. He has also run the same track times as i have.
Anyway im happy to play with a modded bike
Me vs GSXR 600 Second gear.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Y5zzxG4uE&feature
Me Vs same bike him in first me in second
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3p0e3Opsb0&feature=related
1000 CC ninja both with passengers lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UnOd0ycGO4&feature=related
Car is way faster on the street than the track so the times are deceiving.
My Cobra will probably be gone but i would be happy to race any stock or modded 1000CC bikes that are around. The car im replacing mine with is a touch faster
Anyway PM me on here and im happy to set up any pulls once this god damn snow is gone

Where the heck are all you street racers at in my town? Soon as me and my 14 hit the streets lookin for some fun, its like a turd in the pool! every bike, stang, vett or fast and the delirious riced out car within a hundred miles disappears! Washington blows, someone point me towards Houston Texas.
Your stang sounds great and has lots of balls, but going after 600cc bikes and doubled up track bikes? Hell my lawn mower is around 800cc lol, Id like to see a vid of you racing a competent rider on a zx-14 or Busa, or how about a s1000rr from a roll on? You will learn a whole new meaning to the word fast.

Went 10.64 tonight right off the trailer on a stone stock 600 including stock height. FUN FUN FUN Oh, and I smoked a BMW 1000 that ran a 10.84 so 10.50s are very possible.
