Hello, just bought one for my 2nd new bike. I have heard that they drain the battery so i was checking to see if anyone has come across this before i install it.

Hello, the alarm is working fine and do not see any battery drain. The only thing i see so far is in order to keep using the app on the phone you have to turn the alarm off and on before 1 hour is up because the alarm goes into a deep sleep to save the battery. The perimeter accessory works good but takes some tweaking. $10 monthly fee but knowing your bike is safer ( you hope ) priceless.
P.S. as long as you follow the instruction, the installation was easy.

Guaranteed the GPS /Cellular radios are eating your battery. All you need to do, is stick an AMP meter in between the positive (battery) terminal and the positive cable, (with cable disconnected from battery), with and without the GPS alarm plugged in. You will see at least an average of a +20-30ma draw over stock, which will KILL your battery within a week or less of continuous use, especially if the bike is out of GPS Sat view...
Draw will read much higher when the cellular radio reports back to the site, or when the GPS can't find sats. Don't believe the crap the manufacturers hand you about current consumption.

And if the battery is a couple years old it dont stand a chance of having a drain like that !
