What do you do with a spare motor?

Build another bike :-)

this might just be a sign of the times. For the first time in a decade I am not going to the dealer to replace a bike , even if there are plenty of good deals out there. I am using an '85 ZL900 Eliminator chassis and upgrading it with a ZX-14 motor. Here is a pic with the project so far.

There a ZL1000 with a ZRX1200 motor running around Orlando. He brings it to the track. It is very nicely done.

I used the front motor mounts on the head to line up the motor left/right on the frame. i think it is lined up pretty good. even tho the top of the motor doesnt look centered , the clutch cover and the stator cover look like they stick out the same amount. It is installed the same on the zx-14. with the body work off, you can see the head is not centered on the frame.

I'd stuff that motor in a tube framed, dual seated, fox shocked, brembo braked, mini sand rail - be a badass dirtmachine

I am making a swingarm , using the pivot points that the old shaft drive setup used. So far everything is lining up ok.

wheelbase is at 72" right now .
